Ninja Choice

I've come to the conclusion with each of my ninjas I always need to choose between throw, and ikuzachi. Can anyone give me a run down of which would be better to use in general? From my thought process, ikuzachi tends to do more damage regularly, but throw has a higher damage possibility. Throw is mana free, and you can hit vulns with it, but ikuzachi requires no ammo other than mana.

This is all assuming it's not a doublesheathing ninja we're talking about.

Anyone prefer one of these over the other and why? I'm just seeing if there's any aspects I'm missing.

Really, your ikazuchi does more than throw? Do you have throw and edge mastered?

Assuming everything is mastered. That is what I have found. I tend to like throw more because shurikens are unlimited really. Plus vuln capability.

Let me edit that, Throw is usually better, but it has those wimpy misses and grazes that like to pop up sometimes. YOu always get at least a lacerate or so with ikuzachi.

use Ik for finishing as its more reliable and throw for general battle damage.

Ikuzachi can be nice against Ogres too, and Giants if you don't have any magical shurikens.

Really? You people actually use Ikuzachi?

I'm surprised too. Even as a finisher it's got to be less reliable than throw, unless you..um..master it.

I placed that as a given. So throw and edge craft mastered for max damage output. And ikuzachi mastered. I've almost mastered iku. Throw lands mangles most of the time with frequent demolish/oblits against mobs and iku lands lacerates to demolishes. I think I am going to go with throw most of the time, iku for ogres and giants if I can't strike a vuln with throw... or if I'm somehow inexplicably ou of shurikens, iku should be a good replacement anyway. I guess it's good to cover all the bases.

Ik is a spell, throw is a skill, there are advantages to this that should be obvious when considering those things that can contribute to saves to either of them.

What's the lag time on either? Throw is like 2 rounds, Ikuzachi or however is what, a round of lag? If you're getting out more damage with 2 Ikuzachi's than you would with 1 throw, then I'd go the spell route, if you're getting more damage with 1 throw, go the throw route unless you're in a fight where you're both getting low on HP, then to be safe so you don't lag yourself to death you can pop out an Ikuzachi before running to catch a tick and come back. That's assuming Ikuzachi is only 1 round lag and not two though.

It's 2.
