Mystic Tendrils...

Ok my Invoker project is nearing pinacle now, and I've learnt loads about enchanting, mana charging etc.. and really looking forward to getting to pinacle and mixing it up.

That said Mystic Tendrils (which I consider to be one of an Invokers MOST important spells) has me a little frustrated. Is it supposed to fail as much as it does when mastered? I've had runs where I've failed like 6 Tendrils in a row, and by failed I don't mean lost concentration, I mean I took the maul/decimate whatever, but got no Mana back in response. From what I can see there are 4 possible outcomes from a cast of Tendrils, but I don't seem to be having much better results with it now, then I was when it was at 75%.

It generally works very well mastered...you've probably just had exceptionally bad luck

"Mystic Tendrils" is not the end all for Invockers.

Sleeping also helps a lot.

But if you are affected by "Sermon" then this can save you.

One thing i noticed is that this works better on Elves than on Humans.

I also noticed that it normally fails more than half the times. So stock up on health potions or Mana potions to recover faster in combat.

In my experience, as an invoker, mana usually isnt the problem at high levels, especially with a charged staff. It's HP that becomes annoying to keep up.

I agree that mystic tendrils is extremely important.

That being said, I never play human invokers (except my undead).

Mystic tendrils -when mastered works awesome. I would always receive mana, sometimes huge amounts. Check your luck, I bet it plays a big factor.
