Weapon Table

It isn't so simple. There are other variables, not included in the chart, to look at that affect how the weapon works. Also, it doesn't take into account bonuses based on skills (pugil for instance). Not all weapons are affected equally by all stats. You'd have to look at it more comprehensibly and then make a chart for every class/race against every other class/race and then maybe the base number thing would be more useful.

My personal favorite weapons are exotics.

EDIT: I find it more easy to make a small chart of my race/class/cabal (esp. those with expert/masteries) against those who I expect to fight (class wise--that is the bigger variable) and edit for different races in my head if I need to as I face them.

As an example, for a half-elf warrior I played awhile back with shield expert lore, whip and staff expert (just my ideas--very specific to this warrior and his rp):

Warrior whip/shield

Vampire staff

Thief staff

Battlemage whip/shield or spear/shield

Invoker whip/whip

Necromancer spear/dagger

Cleric whip/whip or whip/dagger

Healer whip/whip

Shaman whip/whip

Ranger whip/shield or polearm or mace/shield

Berserker whip/shield

Ninja whip/shield or whip/whip

Monks whip/shield

Dark-Knight staff

Druid spear/spear

Blademaster whip/shield

Paladin spear/spear

Why the whips versus cummuners/mages ?

High output of damage, less chance of the cleric being able to take advantage of the lag from hell (sermon).

That's true, but decent axes are easier to come by than whips, and are almost as strong. Not only that, but c/c's don't get axe, but some get whip.

h-elf warrior with whip expert

axes tend to be heavy or two handed

shield block is a pain also

Axes seem to be easily blocked by shields; whips aren't. Plus, whips are more offensive than axes, and are better for disarming as well.

Assuming we're talking at 50, any c/c worth his salt isn't going to be without a noremove weapon, and will most likely have a noremove shield. But whips are more offensive, so it's likely they are better. In any case, my table is based off theory, and I'm sure Celerity has done quite a bit more 'field work' when it comes to weapon choice.

just like what Raar and I said...shield block is better against axes than whips in the case of communers

casters, basically use whatever the best weapon you can find (axe/whip/flail) and go for it---in this case, I chose whip because of my expertise and low strength
