That's impossible. The game hasn't existed by itself for 8 real years.

If your character aged 16 IG years, you have had the character since creation for 48 days IRL.
That's BS. It doesn't even have 48 hours on it.
Maybe the world shifts make all of that real screwy?
Age keeps going even if you aren't logged on.

Of course, since I'm both, I can't really say any negatives about either...
Your character isn't 0 years old when you create, minimum age is 9 for a feral or something. So if you made a human, chose 15% age (15 years old), played for 5 days, then thats 16 years since the character was born. 
Maybe that works then....
