Illegal Activities: Going against RP Rules

This is a continuation of the shoutout that got semi-hijacked. I would just like to add that when it comes to going against RP guidelines/rules it IS illegal.

But not everytime you do something illegal it will warrant denial. When you go against those rules you are likely to be punished by an Imm... With the Imms RP. That make sense?

You are a Paladin and group with a Dark Knight thats your best friend. You will likely be turned neutral/evil and be Outcasted. Possibly changed to another class altogether. So it can be a fun change.

Though if you are a qclass/qrace expect a FAR harsher outcome.

So to recap. If you break the MUD rules (illegal stuff) that has to do with RP issues, it will be dealt with usually by RP.

Although I think what Mudder said is true, to some degree, this should not suggest that you should go roll up an Elf Paladin with the intention of killing goodies or doing any other ‘non-good align things’ so that you can RP a Converted Paladin and be turned Chaotic Evil for example. No, no, no, no. I'm not saying that's what you were implying Mudder, but it sort of gives that impression (to me, anyway), and regardless, it doesn’t work like that anyway.

Your alignment is what your character IS – it is not what your character wants to be perceived by the world as being. A good-align would not be friends with an evil-align, nor would they ever do anything that was against their align unless it was accidental or unless they were affected by any external factors – maybe an Imm plot where a Goodie was twisted to the evil side by magical domination/possession. To be a goodie and then simply do something non-goodie without good reason is a breach of RP or poor RP.

Oh, and yes, Qraces/Qclasses have it way, way, way harsher, but it is necessary.

To take up the paladin example. If he'd get outcasted to neutral/evil, he would not be able to commune at all (go figure, your God is mad at you), so basically be a very gimped warrior. If you want to rp a goody past, roll up an evil and then rp he used to be good and was turned to evil somehow. You won't get any penalties that way.

And to say it again, no goods and evils should group together around a neutral. If it is accidential and you realize it, stop grouping immediately.

While I agree with everything said thus far...

Sometimes it is necessary to RP a good align differently. Certain events can lead to a very different outlook on life and thus warrant a very different RP.. I was just making it known that people should not be afraid to go down that path, but realize they will be gimped for it and not denied.

That's exactly true, which is what I meant by external factors making a good character do something differently. I just wanted to post so that people didn't think they could go out with a goodie char and just be evil without the proper justification so that they can be outcasted to evil or whatever. Doesn't seem right to me.

It was just that line that made me think that. I know that wasn't your intention, it was just the impression it gave to me.

It's funny. I was the same way, I always wanted to be the "Hero" knight in shining armor kinda thing... Then I played FL for awhile and became the evil blood-sucking bastard that I am today.

(In the mud only, of course)
