That's the good thing about sucking at PK. I don't have any trouble keeping count on my kills at least. ![]()
Do mob deaths count against pk records?
Well I certainly dont have any knowledge of this, but certain apps, it probably doesnt hurt to have a pk or 7 under your belt.
If it ain't 130+ pkills and 5 or less pdeaths, it ain't worth knowing.
However, PK records mean squat without a fully fleshed out RP-driven character. There have been MANY characters with MANY pkills, but it's the ones with solid RP that people remember.
HOT DAMM.... I dont beleive anyone could pull some numbers like that.

Despiser came close with Cariousus, I think. Unless you count the 20 or 30 slays from whatever IMM towards the end of his career.

I had 140/10 way back on a char...
Didn't car have tons of deaths to botty melkhoir? I thought his record was not so great actually..
I killed Cariousus a couple of times between my vamp and my ogre warrior.
Back in the day where IMMs liked me (long ago) one of them filled me in as to Azaghtoth's K/D. Was 68:1 at that time from memory.
My 1.0 human DK Ghaerk had something silly for a while. Somewhere in the realms of 40:0. Then I think Mhaladors elf crusader got the first pawn on me, followed by a pawning by 3-4 Knights at there cabal guard (bash bash bash dead), followed by a death to a ogre warrior knight (Lerial). All went downhill pretty quickly ![]()
I'm pretty sure Galadran caught Ghaerk at one point as well... or maybe it was Eliath...
Agreed. You've beaten them' date=' it's a win.[/quote']
Its a challenge win, not a PK win. Main differences being that rules are set - things like no weapon cleave/icestorm, no leaving the area etc.
People who break rules likes this vs my chars, well, I get to hunt them down and then we have a different kind of 'challenge' :-D
In PK, however, its no holds barred. Areas, scroll, eq destrution and whatever other dirty tricks I happen to have up my sleeve will be used to cause your (un)timely demise :-D :-D

Why is the PK Record so important anyway?
It has a proportional (sometimes logerithmic) relationship to many peoples e-penis size.

Well, I happen to like fighting challenges that DON'T have rules... ^_~

Having a good PK record (even though I've never had one) is important to me because simply put, I enjoy PK, and competitive PK at that. Hand in hand with that, I like winning in PK (who doesn't?) so knowing I'm doing well (by my standards) is a big motivational boost for me when it comes to playing and what leads me to taking 6 death & full-loots as lone a Caballer against 5 enemy Caballers in one play session and still not logging out.
Having said that, I don't think there should ever be a way to find out your own PK record. Having the option universally to be able to access your PK record breeds PKing to pad your record over honest RP-fuelled PKing. This could still be the case if you kept track of your own PKs, but with the effort needed to maintain that record (however little) it's not really as bad as it's not something everyone does. I don't keep a record either way, because I can generally get a "feel" for how I'm doing throughout the life of my character on a scale of "awful", "below average" etc. etc. as opposed to real numbers.

Dey: I was actualy referring to those who always ask IMMs or want it changed so you can review your PK record ![]()
I keep my own with titles and ranks for my chars and those I've killed. Its nice to know that you had a 32:1 PK record on your last duergar cleric, but for me the thrill lies only in the next PK.
Cheers,

Yeah, I know, I was just quoting you because I couldn't find Dizz's post to quote. ![]()

I kept track on a piece of paper for a while, but then I got sick of it and just let it go. I can pretty much remember all the deaths, which I sense is more important.
