Exotics?

As a general rule of tumb, when is it a good idea to use exotics and when not to? If you've got a choice between an exotic and a weapon that your opponent knows, what would you choose?

Exotics act like maces, however, you have a higher prof in exotics than you would regular weapons. If they do not know mace, an exotic will dish out a great deal of hurt.

I was under the impression that everyone has auto-mastered exotics.

Type "prof self weapon" when wielding an exotic and you'll see what I mean.

Exotics are good for disarming and offense. Greater prof helps more in attacking than defending, and so the 110 helps in hitting in melee much more than it helps in parrying against them. If you happen to have more than 110%, an exotic is almost as good as a weapon they don't know, but not quite in terms of parry. Two handed exotics enjoy both the benefit of more than 100 prof and being two handed against people who don't know two handed skill..making them perhaps the most offensive weapons in the game against those people. (two handed whip anyone?)

Exotics are my favorite weapon type, and all of my warriors at least expert in it.

I thought exotic skill was based off rank.

It is.

I think you are wrong on the two handed part.

Like Cel said.

Exotic = uber disarm.

Other than that, i only find the ease of getting a vul/high damage/magic exotic a good bonus.

1 haneded exotics are average weapons regarding defending.

Having a high % in exotic (110%+) does not helps you that much on the ofensive. Unless you are fighting a warrior. Then that % is better than nothing.

If you want a weapon for dualing on your DK get a whip. It is easy to find a good high damage magical whip.

What is wrong about the two-handed part? She's exactly right...

Sorry. I guess I was being too subtle. My question was supposed to be my answer to the original post.

Attacker with 2 handed exotic vs Defender

If the defender knows or not the two handed skill is pointless.

The only ofensive bonus the attacker has is the extra damage from 2handed, but wielding two weapons surpasses it by far.
