Staves and Scrolls

Just thinking... hypotheticaly, of course...

Woul dit be worth it to learn staves and scrolls if you were oh... say an avian ninja with the addict perk?

I'm thinking there is no use to cast fly, you get sanc and such from herbs that you can preserve and, if you are a decent ninja, you won't have any pets to group sanc. You can already cast detect invis and invis...

What else is there that scrolls and staves can offer? Would it even be worth it to train them?

Some really nice rare scrolls for a ninja. Some good healing scrolls, and healing staves too. Look around, there is deff a use.

I recall a certain stave that grants haste being of a great deal of use...

Never found that one. But it took me years to find the enlarge pill.

Now we could use more Scrolls, like detect inv scroll, or santuary scroll, better cure blind scroll .

Never underestimate the power of Scrolls, Especially when you can put a vitcim to sleep, Leaving them vulnerable to recite your nasty rare scrolls on them.

Cure blind scroll!? I'm curious how would you see and read it?

Braille.

Haha, I just wet myself.

Just take care experimenting with some of those. I just happened to fool around with a level 10 charm person staff to let a bumpkin dance on brandywine bridge (don't ask why). Phone rings. I return my attention to the mud and what do I see?

A country bumpkin stops following you.

A country bumpkin yells 'Ajindaar! Now you die!'

Your beating hurts a country bumpkin big time!

A country bumpkin is DEAD!!

The heavens frown upon your actions.

The Gods have forsaken you.

Hey man, you can have mad fun playing around with random charmies. I rolled up a DK once and ranked him up all because I thought it'd be hilarious to charm a plasm beast and have it declaring itself to be king of the world.

Hehe, just wait untill you keep exploring that place (where you found the thing) and you decide to do a turn undead on a neutral ghost.

Your turn undead MANGLES neutral spirit.

Your turn undead ===== DESINTEGRATES === = a hiding good aligned spirit.

Something is dead.

Whole-heartedly agreed; from personal experience though, I'd prefer a 'paid assistant' from your local slave shop; for role-playing purposes, that is.

Umm, I've been under the impression that 'turn undead' actually only did harm to undead... perhaps I'm mistaken though. 3am, lots o' beer 'n liquor, so...

Well, supposing nobody there has comprehend languages or detect magic, and you sleep the thing before it loses charm, and recharm it first try always, all anybody sees is you say something weird and it happens to like you. ^_~

there is a scroll that cures blindness, also cures poison.

I know.

I still want to know how you read it.

Maybe you have a hard time with shamen and you memorized it.

Perhaps it is one of those cool ones that projects the words to say into your brain.

Or you cant read it, and have to recite it on someone else to have that benefit.

I want to know why they disapear after you read them. Do you have to light them on fire for them to have effect?

I assume you just read the words out aloud and the magical words make it disappear. I don't see you find it strange that reading a scroll makes it disappear, but reading a scroll and watching it start throwing acid blasts at people is normal.

Personally I can't see why you can't coppy scrolls down, or memeroize them in stead of having to go and find them again.

Think of scrolls as magical runes on paper that, once actually read out loud, vanish. You can't just recreate these runes with a pen, there's actually some sort of magic in them.

Yeah, its kind of like James Bond and the self destructing message.
