To warrior it or blademaster it?

Was wondering what most people here prefer one or the other, though out of these two choices, warrior/blademaster which would you go with? I've been wanting to roll up one of them lately as my new char, because I've had so much trouble with my recent ones, being a spellcaster, and I'm just more comfortable with melee classes. I would probably go with warrior, considering all the half/blademasters I've seen today, but the question also there would be a giant race or a dex race?

I think the rule is, more str-less dex for zerks, more dex-less str for blm.

edit: So basically, a blademaster is almost guaranteed to have more dex than str.

and for warrior?

I dunno...hehe.

I'd say for warrior...go...stormie...No one's done that in a while.

Yah, Storm Warrior WM.

Zerk if storm...wood vuln won't kill you as much (less reliance on staff/fired weapons)

Either way: Join Warmaster.

Heh, that's what I'm saying.

Warrior:

Ogre, if you're new to the class.

Dwarf or Halfling, if you're intermediate with the class.

Ogre or Fire Giant, if you're experienced with the class.

Blademaster:

Halfling, if you're new to the class.

Elf or Drow or Feral, if you're intermediate with the class.

Halfling or Dwarf, if you're experienced with the class.

Just my suggestions. No matter what you do, try to have FUN.

Keep this in mind:

In order to be viable in PvP, you will have to spend AGES training a blademaster. Mastering every anatomy is paramount ohaving decent damage, and a number of the other skills can be difficult to train... mainly the onslaught/chop/bladerush/backpin/pinwheel combo, because you have to work through each preceeding element before you USE it, and you have to use it to train it.

Warrior will require a fair amount of training as well - specifically weapons - but it is a bit easier to train.

Both are played very differently, so your style will change with that as well. IMO, blademaster is far more tactical than warrior. You can win battles on blademaster by out thinking your opponent. You also have a bit more room to adjust your tactics on a blademaster.

So... hope that's some info to get you thinking.

thanks:) On that WM note, there are already like 8 different ones I've seen in the clan already, and some waiting at 50, so don't think I'll be trying for that one, none the less, it doesn't seem like I can even get into a cabal anymore. I've had one char sitting in a certain clan for ages as a Trusted, and never gotten a chance to get in, although its probably a pk or rp problem on my part.

Why did you put ogre there two times?

Ogres are easy to start out with and rank. Once you develop ideas of magic and saves, move to demihumans to ease that task. Once you mastered eq hunting, then you can go back to ogre.

Bingo. Thanks for the explanation.
