meditation for others

I understand that monks and blademasters must meditate.

Can other classes benefit from this when they go into meditation?

No, I'm pretty sure they don't. And this is my 1000th post. Woot.

they don't. monks/blm are the only classes that "must" use the meditation command to regain mp (at a decent rate of course).

I agree.

Ugh, me too. That's the one thing that cheeses me off to no end.

When I first started playing FL, I also though you had to meditate. They should really change the name of that skill or at least offer a better description of it on the help file.

MEDITATION

Syntax: AUTOMATIC

Syntax: meditate

This skill is similar to fast healing, but relies on the concentration

and mantras to increase mana recovery when the character is sleeping or

resting. Those devoted to casting spells tends to learn to meditate a

lot more easily than those who are devoted to physical combat.

Monks must meditate to regain their mental strength, while Psionicists

do so in order to memorize their spells. Both of these classes will tend

to regain more mental strength when meditating in their temples or guildhalls.

I think that's a good explanation.

Something I noticed while toying around with blademasters, was that you don't regain mana just by being in your guildhall, like monks do. My understanding of monks, is that if you are in your guildhall and resting, you'll still gain mana. That doesn't happen, as a blademaster. Something to look into?

I think its intended.

Monks guild are their temples, and monks meditate in temples. Temples are usualy places of contemplation.

Blademaster guild is just a normal guild.
