Ranger, though you can solo a necro after you get your pets.
takes to long to get the necros pets, so I was thinking ranger as well, maybe ogre ranger then?
Ogre Ranger probably all around.
A battlemage can also do it pretty well.
With shandor, a healer will go through 40-50 REALLY fast, but they would have spent forever on the ranks before that.
Ogre ranger has the bonus of not really needing any type of healing while ranking due to regeneration and having pets to take the blows. Not sure at lower levels they have the damage to deal out.
I was going to say human with its lower exp cost....but human what? Hmmm.
I had a human ranger once and ranking went pretty well.
Or a human paladin is good for ranking, but the exp pen is still pretty nasty, even as a human.
Don't like the pali idea, no dirt kick ability makes for less hits slower kills, except for the flamestrike which you do get somewhat early on, but still does not land nearly as much as dirt does, but the bmage? You mean a human bmage? I should probably look into his skills/spells then.
You could solo rank a human battlemage pretty quickly, I imagine, after level 25.
playing at my wicked times when nobody is in the lands?
monk's go right through ranking as long as you don't train weapons but only ure three defenses.

sarcastic answer: elf cleric, because i broke the spell exp. system. went from 13-42 in a few hours doing so. hah.
real answer: any melee class can do it with a wee bit o' care, and knowledge of which mobs at which rank. i would say human paladin would fare a bit better with healing spells (the elf's extra mana doesn't quite negate their penalty, so i went human since we're soloing).
Human Paladin.
Sure he cannot dirt kick, but he past the initial level you will have enuff hitroll to almost never miss. And at higher levels its fire lance.
The best thing is all protections and healings.
DK human is not that bad, i normaly soloed them to 35.
a werebeast berserker, once you break 15 you can solo quite well in tiger, bear and especially wolf. once you get warcry and berserk, its smooth sailing.
berserk, warcry, rage, wolf... is quite tough...you have very good eq hit - dam while naked.
