that is what i do when i trian.
With neutrals/evils, I solo this way: Quests>Sewers>White Kings Courtyard>Elvish Valley. That'll take you upto 20, gets a little slow around 18, especially for neutrals.
In the court yard I use a loop that goes east north west south and out, killing Warhorses, Entertainers, Magicians, Tenders, and Maidens. When it gets slow go hit up the elves, just be careful for the ones that hide.
For goods, It's been a long time since I've played a good monk/mage so I am not so sure about them, but I am certain there are places to go, or atleast there used to be, area changes and all.

Write future applications for cabals, qrace, etc. Write an RP note about your character to send now or in the future. Go RP with random people, in group range or not. Talk to NPC's and get deeper into your own characters RP. Adventure out and gather up some gear. If you are able to, solo hunt for experience.
If all else fails, log on, and watch a movie/entertain yourself in some other way while you wait for the opportunity to interact with people in group/pk range.
