Yes.

Drop them somewhere, and go battle alone.

You can recall yourself or recall them if a mage.

If you have the contract / are a syndicate your pets should not kill your opponent.

Generally this holds true, but for whatever reason pets occasionally go ahead with an extra round of combat. I've seen it happen, but it is rare. Most likely it has something to do with the exact hp they're at when you get the stun.

Bug it.
