Notes/Apps and length

I don't have reliable, constant, or continued access to internet at this point and so I can't really get on to check this question.

How long can a note/app be before forcing you to start another? I know I've seen several multi-part notes from people before, but I've never figured out the exact number.

My main reason for asking is that I have a character idea I've been working on for about a month now that is going to have a very, very large app (I'm trying to put together a class/race/align that doesn't normally happen, expecting some severe gimping) coming soon after I get back playing again. But, this thing is turning into a short-story, about 6 pages typed right now, and I'm not sure if I should submit in-game or not.

Any help from IMMs on this, or players who've had similar experiences?

Don't put too much work into it. 6 pages is far too long; you don't get any bonus points for length. I've found that the more "successful" roleplay angles are the ones that are easy to follow. Highly complex storylines and tons of required reading may be fine for Imms, but most players don't have the time/don't want to make the effort to stay on top of your story.

way too long, if you ask me. the apps i liked and approved were about medium length, with enough information to keep me intrigued and not too much that i got bored. it's like the WOT series... a great read, but man... too much information!

but hey, that's just what i did back then. the staff now might like it. shrug

hmm...sounds like my idea is still viable. i think i'll keep the story for myself then and just find a way to create an app that's a bit shorter then. now. to figure out how to turn this into a moderate length app but still keep the quality and the idea there.

another thought. if applying for multiple things like i said (class/race/align) should I just do that all at once for the character?

If you want a combo that usually does not exist, apply all in one, yes.

App should not be more than two parts.
