I just pinned a character for the first time (so it took forever) and I have never once seen a Warmaster around. Is it the pbase's fault for not filling the role of WarMasters or is it a lack of talent in the clanpool or is it something else I'm just don't know.

Lack of IMM activity right now. These things happen and pass, sometimes they have things that take they away for a week or two. I saw Athara the other day for a bit.

Well I dont' know about that. Everyone is (I) in the clan and I know alot of them have done tons of quests, and yes, are at pinnacle. And not everyone can be on the same time Athara is on if you want to credit it to RP. So I don't know about that.
I think if Immortals would show themselves more it would give players more incentive to play. I'll give an example.
You log on your Despair M. You're lvl 50 and have done quite a few quests. You see Malchaeius on, most to ALL players will instantly think, " Wow sweet, Malch is on! Time to do some RP/PK cuz I KNOW he will see it now. "
Seeing your cabal imm of choice on makes you more excited cuz you know you can actually interact with them.
I am not saying this is just an IMM thing. Players that only wait for imms to be around are lazy and only looking for a quick break. But seeing you all makes us excited. I know you watch us when we think you're not and all that, but most players will pull out their A game when they see the IMM on. I have heard that we all need to be that way all the time, but when you barely interact with your IMM, it makes you think, " Whats the point of doing all this? " I'll give an example of an IMM that I have heard about. I'm not trying to pick on this imm, but give an example. Anitharil. He is an awesome Imm prolly behind the scenes. But I have talked to Savant/hourglass and they have told me that they wish Anitharil was more active in CB/CC. Anitharil is by NO means a bad imm, but he doesn't interact as much from what I hear. Now this is just what I hear. I don't play casters let alone Savant hopefulls so I could be way off.
Just inspires people when IMMs are around and makes them feel like they could accomplish something more.
We all have several things that prevent us from being visible all the time. But believe me... I am watching.

Changed clans though because I was fairly certain that Warmaster and Battle were dead.
Well I remember seeing two savants taking out like six warmaster four of which were pretty decked, that alone made me not want to ever be a warmaster again.
Well...its still very strange that there are never Warmasters...come to think of it I don't see much Syndicate around either, although I know they exist.
It seems most syndicates keep their flags hidden.
Warmaster is a tough cabal, almost as tough as Tribunal seems to be.
I had a char in Hourglass and, although I saw him on all the time, he barely said a word.
The idea that "a cabal will have more members if its immortal is more visible/active" is completely untrue.
Savant and Herald are excellent examples of how immortal activity has little influence on membership in any cabal. Savant is one of the most active cabals right now. If we follow the statement in quotation marks above, then Anithraril should be very active. Yet, certain members of Savant/Hourglass would like Anithraril to speak on cabal chat or clan chat more often (according to BKW, anyways). As for Herald, its most recent increase in numbers came at a time when its immortal leadership was unavailable.

I think it's mainly that Savants smell funny. Sarodin, my drow bmg savant constantly rubbed skunk sweat on him before fighting the warmasters.

The Warmasters did indeed come out on top of them for a good period of time. For a while, the warmasters ran over savants as they started to grow in numbers. As much as people may not want to admit, yes, cabal power moves in cycles, and what drives these cycles are the players. The immortal controls induction rate, which can help...as warmasters have had some amazing induction rates at times. However, a few really strong players, or even one can turn the tide.
Savants have been under Warmaster when Warmaster had many strong members compared to relatively weak savants and/or class disadvantages. Each of these cabals has strong abilities. The savants have never been fighting a weak cabal by any means. The amount of damage they can do is simply amazing. Savant operates on a different techinque, and for those who are no experienced, a warmaster can be overwhelming for them.
As show with players like Martineius, one character can take a cabal from decline, even against odds, and take them to glory. The trouble is...once those players that are supporting the cabal's strength decide to leave, or take a break for a while, the cycle begins again. Look at Tribunal now. Look at Warmaster now. Look at Savant when a few key characters start to log on less.
Looking for glory? Be the Warmaster to turn the tide.
Yes, I've been busy IRL. And I do apologize to everyone for that, and to past Wm's. Everything is in order now, however, and hopefully the Cabal can get a jumpstart very soon. Even though I haven't been active, I've still been scouting the pbase/clan. But anyhow, anyone willing to jump on a wagon that's about to roll down a very rocky path, I say to you now "Roll a Warmaster today!" (borrowed that from you Raargant)

I can agree with that mode of thinking, but you should always rp like your imm is on cause they very well could be, Im sure the imms wanna see who is really dedicated and who is just brown nosing.
