Elven invockers

i been considereing rollign a elven invocker but their low con and goodie area spell thing makes me consider it.

So anyone has an idea of what the base HP's of a Elf invocker at 50 are ?

Probably 600, right ?

And does the Area spells on goodie mobs realy hinders the play ?

Im not sure if these are the kinds of questions that are encouraged on the forum, but I have never played one so I couldnt tell you anyway.

Problem with goodie vokers - dk's necros shamans clerics like to summon saplings.

750 hp base with trains as welf voker. Give or take.

If I can drop people like a hookers panties, with a faerie invokers HP im pretty sure an elf wouldn't be a problem in the hp department in addition, not picking a class based on alignment simply because of a mechanics worry, is a pretty ****ty way to go about it. If you want to roll a good character and RP a good character, do so don't worry about mechanics.

Mya - I played an elf invoker for a little while. Sethrynus Sylldevar, was a Knight for a very short while but I found myself playing FL waaaayy too much so had to walk away for a while.

Anyhow, of the two main choices for invokers: human or elf/drow, I will list the main pros/cons:

Human: (Good aligned)

  • Pros -
  1. can use the best non-rare healing item in the game even after they age.

  2. They will have a better base hp (especially if you 1-prac most things)

  3. no exp pen.

  4. best parry of all voker races.

  • Cons -
  1. Run out of mana and flare themselves quicker than elves

  2. Less chance of dispel magic working

  3. AC will be less than elf (probably washes out with parrying ability)

Elves

  • Pros -
  1. More mana = won't flare charged staff as quickly

  2. Master mana charge quicker

  3. Better AC than human

  4. Faster learning

  • Cons -
  1. Less health than human

  2. Can't use the best healing item.

That's it in a nutshell. Just as a side note, I took down some pretty big opponents w/ Seth with only a few pdeaths (damn fire giant clerics). However, if I had to do it all over, I would either qrace an elf or go human.

Thank for the info.

I just dont see how a human can parry more than a Elf, unless is a special weapon barred to elfs. They with the same eq should parry the same.

And i know the Elven fast learning will make up for the human fast ranking.

Having thinkered with a Gnome invoker to 42, felling their lack of Eq gathering skills (remeneber i play Paladins) i would not play the a Drow one, witch would probably be the more powerfull one.

Hoo well it apears i will have to learn how to deal with the consequences of area spells.
