Not really, and it's always seemed weird to me that they don't just dissolve when dropped like practice weapons, but what are ya gonna do. Doesn't matter a whole lot.
You'll see, it's not awfully long. The beads crumble after a certain length of time. In the meantime, if you wanted to create more, you could always make new ones and wear those, leaving the old ones in your inventory until they crumble.

Right. Always use the oldest one, that way if you use one to strangle, you've still got one in your inventory to wear afterwards.

Precisely. It also breaks the beads you're holding, so it's good to have backups which will last a while. Hence you always holding the oldest beads you have.

Right, when I killed the great black dragon in the arena with Kaenor, I strangled him with my beads like eight times without them breaking, sometimes they break on the first one though.

Anyway I highly do not recomend trying to master this skill by spamming.

yeah, spamming doesn't sound like a good idea
Two practices'll get you to 75 with those races, and it works often enough at 75 that you really don't have to worry about trying to master it.

I did. I died 3 times even though I planned having lots of barrels of milk in my inventory and doing so at a fountian. It has no bearing on the beads. I say this here not to ruin a game secret or something rather because it is very dangerous for a character to do this.
Though I will say for my second death was not to hunger or thirst, it was to a player and they tried to full loot me. All they got where beads that cant be dropped and they ended up dead from hunger too.
