Items vanished?

Okay, I didn't want to say anything at first, but it's been like a year since I seen a lamian stave or durindel. Were they taken from the game?

I have to concur with the stave...but you are SO giving away VALUABLE information Dale...now everyone is goint to go find it and figure out what it does!!

Covus and other shamans have it bountied on chars that never log on anymore, or something.

Putting items into a bounty puts them back into circulation. It's one of the reasons that there are so many extra rare items. For example Person A bounties Uber Rare Item on Person B. Uber Rare Item is returned to the rare pool. Person C goes and gets Uber Rare Item. Person D holds onto their Uber Rare Item. Person A logs back in 7 days later, and the bounty is returned. They now have a third, unintentional copy of Uber Rare Item.

That's damned interesting. Maybe that's why freaking rares you've had for eternity crumble after dying once. Either way, after all the returns of the lamian staves, I'm sure other shamans/players CONTINUED to get it over and over again until it just didn't come back.

I play VERY actively, and I have yet to see someone holding it, and it's been over 3 months.

I locate it. Haven't seen it in that long.

I havn't seen Durindel since I got back now that you mention it. And I play at all time zones so it can't be a time zone thing...Unless there is a bunch of pinns out there, who only get logged on enough hours a month not to get rare purged, which I know some people do. I delete if I'm not going to play a pinn, instead of hogging all the good equip. Share you bastards.

My Battlemage about 2 months back had the durindel before I deleted, that is, after I removed all, dropped all, and sacc'd all.

I am SURE I saw Durindel not too long ago (like a week or so), however, the funny thing is, I can't remember if it was IG or in a PK log... Not much help there really..

I saw someone wielding it two days ago, and on the topic of stuff Vanishing, Whats with the lance of Imbalance and staff of nature spirits, they just vanish when you kill the mob who holds it.

Item bug. The game makes too many rare items, and balances it by just making it crumble when the mob dies. Kind of like how some of your eq crumbles when it's normally not rotdeath.

I recently saw a few people with the lance, after it had been broken for YEARS.

They are both rotdeath so if someone has one and you kill the mob it rotdeaths when the mob dies too.

staff of spirits isn't rotdeath, is it? Last I checked it wasn't.

Considering its cursed, I'd hope not.

EDIT: On second thoughts, should we be talking about this?

staff of natures spirits is not rot death. I am positive, because I know I have died with one and come back to it on corpse. Its just bugged. It only recently started doing that.
