monks and their lives

well....it seems to me.....or let me ask you guys out there....a monk should master their weapons? secondly big bad evil dratted clerics/shamans/invokers try and kill me.....so far evil clerics triumphed over the other groups in most kills....any ideas on what to do? I seem to not be able to get over that stupid evil aura (like people say I think its overpowered) and sermon(not that big of the deal besides lag) so here's the things i've tried...buddha stance vs. evil aura......don't work.....crane vs. evil aura....they seem to still be hitting me more than i hit them....

so i decided to go with the old dispel and kill.....mostly it seems they run...put up their stuff...summon and destroy me again

any suggestions for what my poor monk should do?

definately have to go with crane, level three chii, air thrash and trip....if you can get it done they're done. I find it very, very hard to lag lock anybody though lately. Haven't played a monk in forever though and if I remember right, those chakera strikes do lag a little.

Chakera lags very well.

Zrothum, I thought the general consensus was towards monks always going all out hitroll and relying on their hands for damage (Though I might be wrong). Not challenging you, but rather, curiously asking, wouldn't going all damroll mean your hitroll isn't going to be that good even with crane?

I've found that the higher the damroll, the more chakera's you land.

If that is the case, what about the tiger stance then?

I go high damroll and crane. The affects of crane stance versus communers are QUITE nice. Crane ups your hitroll and you will already have a nice damroll from eq. Balances out to a kick communer butt combo.

I have to agree definetly go crane since they can not lag (except Sermon) you dont need to to be defensive. But remenber you need to have chii bolt maxed so you can release it or else crane wont be that effective.

If you have monkey,crane sux...If you are fighting all but duergar cleric use monkey stance and empower your hands to chii bolt level 2 .You will see why.

But there is a slight problem with that, Protective shield.

protective shield affects nothing.

protective shield prevents chakera hits. Unless they changed it.

I learned that the hard way with Malik faught so many clerics, invokers, and healers it was crazy. Was wondering why I didnt do any chaker hits until I accidently released my chii bolt one time.

if the cleric is outdmging me w/ his weapon and no disarm it is, should I be doing something special, or fleeing?

you can try shield disarming if he has one, it will help to lessen his defenses. + i 'm fairly sure that high hitroll will help you punch past defense, so you can try sacrificing some +dam for some +hit and see if that helps, otherwise i'd probably say run for now.

Most clerics (not all) will be using holy hands most of the time and you should be disarming the shield (not many clerics have a no disarm shield) it will let you get in a some good hits.
