[02:08:05] Selavyth said 'And now the creature of the plague themselves, an undead.'
[02:08:10] * Nysa pouts.
[02:08:11] You said 'That's me!'
[02:08:21] You said 'And Henry!'
[02:08:31] * Zyxivaan pats Henry gently, getting bitten for his trouble.
[02:08:37] Selavyth said 'I expect you and the undead creature will not be at each others throats
Nysa?'
[02:08:55] * Zyxivaan tilts his head as though confused.
[02:09:01] * Nysa frowns.
[02:09:04] * Maligdorl conjures a thin layer of magic around the surrounding area.
[02:09:21] Maligdorl said 'No worries, your Gods can not hear what is going on here now.'
[02:09:28] * Selavyth chuckles politely.
[02:09:30] Nysa said 'It's troubling yes! I think I've seen enough to know they're not as
unacceptable as most corpses'
[02:09:38] * Selavyth nods.
[02:09:39] Maligdorl said 'If it shields me from Lloth, then surely it will from yours aswell.'
[02:09:45] Nysa said 'But I'll be watching them closely!'
[02:09:50] You said 'People keep calling me a corpse.'
[02:09:53] Selavyth said 'Nod'
[02:09:54] You said 'It's a little rude.'
[02:09:54] Nysa said 'And will still defend the living as best I can'
[02:10:06] * Nysa grins evilly.
[02:10:21] Selavyth said 'Now then I believe you all understand why I have asked you here yes?'
[02:10:29] * Selavyth turns her gaze toward Zyxivaan, pale amusement touching her expression.
[02:10:33] Maligdorl said 'There are few possibilities.'
[02:10:43] * Zyxivaan puts two fingers close together. 'I have a tiny...hope.'
[02:10:50] Nysa said 'No idea! But happy to be along to learn why!'
[02:11:26] * Selavyth lets the small comments settle, her gaze moving from Savant to Savant in turn.
[02:11:34] Selavyth said 'A tiny hope is still more than no hope at all.'
[02:11:41] Selavyth said 'But no, this is not a lesson hidden behind seven veils.'
[02:11:49] Selavyth said 'Savant needs a hand upon the Tower.'
[02:12:03] Selavyth said 'Not a tyrant. Not a crown. A voice that can gather the rest when silence
becomes too comfortable.'
[02:12:07] * Zyxivaan stirs slightly but settles.
[02:12:13] * Selavyth folds her hands before her, moonlight clinging faintly to her sleeves.
[02:12:20] Selavyth said 'You three are here because you are Savant, and because the Tower should
not be led by assumption alone.'
[02:12:32] Selavyth said 'I want each of you to speak plainly. Who among you should lead the Tower?'
[02:12:36] * Maligdorl turns his attention from a floating mirror, directly to Zyxivaan and nods.
[02:12:42] Selavyth said 'Say the name, say the reason, and keep the reason worthy of the Tower.'
[02:12:43] You said 'Me.'
[02:12:56] Maligdorl said 'This is the path we have been led to.'
[02:13:14] Maligdorl said 'Are you worthy to wield such power, Zyxivaan?'
[02:13:17] You said 'Zyxivaan. Because I've been here almost as long as Maligdorl. I've recruited,
fought, won, and taken lands. All while directing my own efforts to success.'
[02:13:41] You said 'No idea who is or isn't worthy. Have to be tested with the power.'
[02:13:47] Selavyth said 'The path of a plague bearer? One whom has caused an entire race to be on
the brink of death?'
[02:14:08] Selavyth said 'And you Nysa, so young to the tower. But yet even in youth perhaps their
is wisdom.'
[02:14:09] Maligdorl said 'How would you wield the power of the time stream for the tower?'
[02:14:10] You said 'Luck, skill, and coincidence arrived at the same time to achieve that.'
[02:14:28] * Nysa is a bit startled, not expecting to be included
[02:14:31] Nysa said 'Oh!'
[02:14:44] Selavyth said 'I would not ask you here Nysa if I did not wish to hear your voice.'
[02:14:46] * Zyxivaan looks at Maligdorl with sincerity. 'The same way I have until now.'
[02:14:59] Nysa said 'Well, I would be far braver than I am to suggest myself.'
[02:15:15] Nysa said 'But that leaves two choices I would not choose if I had other choices! '
[02:15:21] * Nysa smiles, trying to be polite
[02:15:33] * Zyxivaan chuckles, a gravelly timbre to it.
[02:15:34] Maligdorl said 'There is still much I would desire to accomplish.'
[02:15:51] Maligdorl said 'But there is no doubt you have served as the tower's strength in my long
reveries.'
[02:16:03] Nysa said 'In the end, I would pick Life, as Erelei would, and would support Maligdorl. '
[02:16:10] * Selavyth lets the words from each of them settle, her gaze moving slowly from Nysa to
Zyxivaan, and then to Maligdorl.
[02:16:55] * Zyxivaan opens his mouth, but closes it once more as Selavyth's gaze drifts onto him.
[02:16:57] Selavyth said 'The purest of the pantheon. A choice that is. '
[02:17:10] * Selavyth inclines her head slightly toward Nysa, acknowledging the answer without
softening the weight of it.
[02:17:16] Selavyth said 'A vote for Life, then. Noted.'
[02:17:31] * Selavyth turns her gaze to Maligdorl, pale eyes unreadable beneath the strange light of
the platform. And from you, Maligdorl?
[02:17:51] Selavyth said 'Do you yield your voice to the strength that stood while you dreamed?'
[02:17:57] Selavyth said 'Or do you ask the Tower to trust the designs still turning in your mind?'
[02:19:28] * Selavyth remains still as the Tower creaks beneath them, waiting until even the small
noises of spell and map have passed.
[02:19:52] * Zyxivaan hushes Henry as he lets out an anxious squeak.
[02:20:13] Maligdorl said 'I've not yet yielded my will over the Tower to anyone. When I arrived
here it was in shambles and disrepair, I stood in the face of the mighty Kethraham and kept the
tower standing. But this is not my decision to withstand ultimately. The Title o'
[02:20:48] Maligdorl said 'The Title of Time Lord will go unto the one whom will bring the tower
foward.'
[02:21:22] * Selavyth watches Maligdorl carefully, her expression unreadable as the Tower creaks
beneath them.
[02:21:36] Selavyth said 'Then the question becomes simple. How, in your sight, brings the Tower
forward?'
[02:22:02] Selavyth said 'Not who has served the longest, or who desires it most. WHo moves Savant
from what it has been, toward what it must become?'
[02:22:11] * Maligdorl turns his attention fully to Zyxivaan, 'You have been a worthy ally in our
war with the camp. They tremble in your wake.
[02:22:35] Maligdorl said 'I believe that I can wait a little bit longer before I wield the full
capabilities of the Tower.'
[02:22:37] * What's left of Zyxivaan's facial features morph into a small smile.
[02:23:15] Maligdorl said 'But, if you begin to step away from my vision, I will revert back to this
moment and change my path.'
[02:23:32] You said 'I would expect no less from such a capable mage as yourself.'
[02:23:52] Selavyth said 'A warning made with enough honesty to almost be loyalty.'
[02:23:54] You said 'With your vision to guide us, we shall continue our forward momentum.'
[02:24:13] You said 'I would not want to do this without you.'
[02:24:23] * Nysa smiles happily.
[02:24:39] * Selavyth turns then to Zyxivaan, pale eyes settling on what remains of his smile.
[02:24:48] * Maligdorl clinches his fist which closes the mirror in time behind him and he nods.
'Indeed you would not.
[02:24:49] You said 'I know I wield more power than most. And I would wield is wisely, with
guidance.'
[02:25:31] Selavyth said 'Well then, how exciting!'
[02:25:51] * Selavyth clasps her hands together.
[02:26:21] * Zyxivaan turns toward Selavyth and puts his hands behind his back, straightening to his
full height.
[02:26:27] Selavyth said 'A vote cast by Life.'
[02:26:32] Selavyth said 'A vote yielded by Time.'
[02:26:45] Selavyth said 'And a claim made by Death.'
[02:26:58] * Selavyth looks between the three Savants, her smile slight and dangerous.
[02:27:29] You said 'Paradox is a powerful, but strange spell.'
[02:27:50] You said 'I'll be right back too!'
[02:28:50] * Zyxivaan sits, waiting patiently.
[02:29:12] Selavyth said 'Time is but a strange thing, fleeting and running at you all the same.'
[02:29:14] Nysa said 'I do yes. Long term goals, of course. I wish to become a true master of
communions, and spread what I learn to temples across the land.'
[02:29:27] * Selavyth draws a small deck of black-edged cards from within her sleeve, each face
hidden beneath a crescent of pale silver.
[02:29:53] * Nysa smiles happily.
[02:30:12] Selavyth said 'You three are bound together by the tower and the moons.'
[02:30:41] * Zyxivaan nods slowly and thoughtfully.
[02:30:54] Selavyth said 'Now then yes I think this was most productive indeed.'
[02:31:15] * Maligdorl waves his hand and the clouds move, revealing more clearly the moons in the
sky above.
[02:31:28] You said 'Agreed.'
[02:31:35] * Nysa nods and smiles warmly
[02:31:48] * Selavyth looks upon the three Moon cards with rare satisfaction, the silver edges
gleaming as night settles fully around the Tower.
[02:31:54] Selavyth said 'Three faces of the same pull.'
[02:32:00] Selavyth said 'Life, Time, and Death beneath one moonlit roof.'
[02:32:02] * Selavyth chuckles politely.
[02:32:08] Selavyth said 'Remember this when disagreement returns, as it always will.'
[02:32:13] Selavyth said 'You do not need to be the same to be bound.'
[02:32:19] Selavyth said 'You need only keep the Tower from falling while each of you reaches for
the impossible.'
[02:32:56] * Selavyth gathers the three Moon cards back into her hand, one by one, their pale edges
vanishing beneath her fingers.
[02:33:11] * Zyxivaan watches in slight awe at the moonlight moving at Selavyth's command.
[02:33:16] Selavyth said 'Then it is done. By voice, by vote and by the Moon's witness.'
[02:33:21] * Selavyth grins evilly.
[02:33:55] * Zyxivaan nods decisively.
[02:33:56] Selavyth said 'Moonlight merely recognizes its source, Zyxivaan. It is like bird
recognizing the sky as its home.'
[02:33:59] You said 'Hey!'
[02:34:20] You said 'This idiot.'
[02:34:27] * Nysa frowns.
[02:34:31] Selavyth said 'Well this is rather entertaining indeed.'
[02:34:36] You said 'Accidental!'
[02:34:40] * Nysa pouts.
[02:34:55] * Selavyth raises an eyebrow.
[02:35:05] * Zyxivaan wipes his mouth nonchalantly.
[02:35:08] * Nysa sighs.
[02:35:10] You said 'Excuse me.'
[02:35:11] Maligdorl said 'Fido'
[02:35:19] Selavyth said 'As I was saying whoever.'
[02:35:58] * Zyxivaan says 'Sorry' embarrassedly.
[02:36:00] Selavyth said 'Zyxivaan the tower has spoken in your favor.'
[02:36:10] Selavyth said 'Do you accept the task laid before you?'
[02:36:15] * Maligdorl peers intently at Zyxivaan.
[02:36:18] You said 'I do, and shall.'
[02:36:32] Selavyth said 'Lead it forward. Not as plague alone. Not as conquest alone. '
[02:36:38] Selavyth said 'But as the hand that keeps the Tower moving when lesser minds would let it
drift.'
[02:36:47] You said 'I shall continue to accept this task, of bringing the Tower to prominence in
learning.'
[02:36:53] Selavyth said 'Maligdorl. Nysa. Hold him to the shape spoken here.'
[02:36:59] * Nysa nods.
[02:37:00] Selavyth said 'A leader unwatched becomes a tyrant. A leader unguided becomes a fool.'
[02:37:11] Selavyth said 'Savant has chosen. Now prove the choice wise.'
[02:37:49] * Maligdorl looks up toward the Savant tower as it flashes from blue to purple and back.
[02:38:19] Maligdorl said 'Our power grows exponentially.'
[02:38:32] * Zyxivaan bows deeply to Selavyth.
[02:38:47] * Zyxivaan bows again to Maligdorl, and even to Nysa.
[02:38:49] You said 'Thank you.'
[02:38:49] Selavyth said 'See to it that I do not regret this choice.'
[02:38:55] Maligdorl said 'Welcome, Time Lord.'
[02:39:26] * Nysa smiles happily.
[02:39:49] You said 'Well! That was something!'
[02:39:49] * Maligdorl grins evilly.
[02:39:58] Maligdorl said 'What wonderful timing.'
[02:40:02] Nysa said 'Quite enlightening!'
[02:40:30] You said 'I do believe the time of the Mage is upon us.'
[02:40:42] Maligdorl said 'What shall be your first desire?'
[02:40:47] You said 'The time of the axe and spear will be gone.'
[02:40:56] You said 'Figure out what in the world a chronobeam is!'
[02:41:07] * Nysa smiles happily.
[02:41:26] Maligdorl said 'An execution of time energy.'
[02:41:50] You said 'And now we need to take more lands again.'
[02:42:00] You said 'That's about the only thing I can think of.'
[02:42:16] * Maligdorl bows deeply.
[02:42:20] * Nysa gallantly tips her hat.
[02:42:27] You said 'Until next time!'
[02:42:28] Maligdorl said 'I shall retire for now Savants.'
[02:42:34] Nysa said 'Take care!'
[02:42:38] You said 'I'm gonna go out to sea and lead some armies.'
Savants Gathering
And so the Tower wakes from its slumber.
Three cards drawn beneath the moons: Life, Time, and Death. Walk well the paths before you, and perhaps you may yet understand why moonlight falls upon the Tower.
Also, I wholeheartedly approve of logs in which I make an appearance ;)
Not at all how I expected the evening to unfold, but I am excited to see where it leads all the same!
It was a lot of fun. I just hope I can contribute more time to the game soon! The Time Stream Demands it!
