Control Weather...

Would you like some spam with that spell? ;)

Add 3 rounds of lag and a cool down (12-24 hours based on spell prof),  increase the casting cost by 20x and allow it to be successful per cast. Weather changers (rangers, invokers, items) should not have to suffer or expose others to the spam, if the weather switches back randomly too bad, wait out the cool down and try again. KnawMean? :)

Sure. I also think it would be cool if other invoker spells were more viable instead of call lightning being the go to. Mystic trendils should be usable in combat and ideas/newbie help should be allowed to be posted in anonymously, it kinda gives away who you're playing and some people prefer to stay unknown.

But back to call lightning, I think the idea behind it was its meant to be an upkeep, something that you can potentially overlook.

I play rangers, invokers, use a staff of control Weather as well as see other play the same classes and use the same objects... I'm also a former coder that sees things as they happen and wonder how they can be enhanced without disrupting the balance of the skill/spells/objects.

Do I care who knows who I play? No, I don't need to hide because I don't screw people over in game, I'm here for fun as they are. But yes I think ideas and suggestions should be posted anon if they aren't, as some people don't want to give their new char away while they suggest ideas to bug fix and improve the classes :)

So Whats the difference between casting a virtual no lag spell 20 times in order to get an effect only to raise its casting cost 20x and give it a lag, it simply scraps the spam, that's all. I also added a cool down suggestion of 12-24 hours, this isn't benificial, it's a penalty :)

This might be a shocker, but they don't have to ;)

Rangers are mostly a melee class and invokers have plenty of others, quite viable, offensive spells to compensate for their lack of attention to the weather.

As to anonymous newbie help... You can always ask the imms to post on your behalf. It is actually fairly common. If I ever give bad insight or advice, it's because somebody asked me to post for them, since..you know.. I am never wrong. :P
