Creating a quest that's on par with the Lich or Undead quests is righteously long and difficult. I wouldn't want to do that if it would only see limited use.
Demons
Good point. How about the already existing quest-only thingies? Wouldn't that also be sort of a test to see which ones people prefer?
This thread has been sufficient in giving me an idea of what players want in this regard, I think. Thanks to everyone who participated, by the way.
More names than xxxicant.
the demon of adult entertainment? seems like it hasnt been done yet...
Tkhanzar.
And Gehenna makes two of which I'm aware. Give or take 13 years apart.
Wasn't the -ant an unwritten rule for homage to Viri/Crypt anyway?
I know of 3 within the last 3 years. They do come about, but usually due to very unique rp and transformation.
I've been trying to buck the trend.
I think the -ant trend is good. Makes demons sound even more badass and makes it even more rewarding when you decide to give a name out of the trend, because you KNOW there must be something more curious about this particular demon.
I think there was another demon that didn't have -ant name during the time I played. I think he was a bard. God it drove me crazy why he didn't have such a name and I tried to approach him many times and find out via RP why. On the other hand I've also been approached many times by other people to inquire about my name, some were shooting guesses, and some of them were extremely accurate (aka Ekhurift) which only made my character hate that character even more, because they knew (even thought they weren't sure about it) something they were not supposed to know. Good times.
Whats even more curious is that we often talked with Trick on facebook about the game. Generally discussing characters, their RP, their PK and stuff like that. He never asked me OOC about the name, he never asked about the story behind it, about the RP, about Tkanzhar's relations with Volg and Anume. He tried to find all those things ingame, with his own character, which even though we two were friends outside the game, our characters hated each other.

That's exactly how you should do things. Awesome. :)
No cheating, Volg ;)
I named Tkanzhar. :cheese:
The demon bard was me. Why can I not remember that name? EDIT: DEBAUCHUS! That was the name.
I had another one shortly after named Kasrilanivilandurmaz and one a few years before that named Asherakt.
Come to think of it, none of my demons have adhered to the "-ant" pattern. I'm speshul.
Kasrilanivilandurmaz was such a fun RP, too. One-God Demon. Although technically speaking, that one was Narysvalkexi, not demon.
There was Zenophobynt too.

That was quite well thought too. Both in line with the tradition and untraditional, plus the name went well with the xenophobic RP :P

Yes, that was the name indeed. And it was you? That explains a few things :P
Yeah... That was embarrassing. In my defense, though, this was before the rework, and before they were given two-handed as a defense.
Not sure why that one had a unique name, so I never really knew how to answer you.
