Well, after a long 7 year hiatus, I have pinned my first 50 in years and decided to go druid again. I have no complaints thus far, except one thing.
Seems to me that druids are pigeonholed into a very 1 dimensional style of play/rp. They basically are confined to one cabal, which makes play style very lacking... other than the standard tree hugging hippy RP.
My biggest complaint however, is that exploration for them is very difficult. There are quite a few areas of the game that are more or less completely off-limits to them due to yearning.
My suggestion would be this. (Gaunticles actually came up with the idea.)
Give druids a spell similar to blanket of darkness, which allows them to temporarily transform a room type to forest. Allowing them to create a safe point from which they can progress through places like Gear, Winter, etc... Doesn't seem to me like that would create too many balance issues, little to no combat advantages gained. But will make exploration and play at least a bit easier, esspecially for new players... or old players like me who haven't explored much of the realm yet and don't know if forested rooms exist in some of the places I'd like to explore. Dangerous to wander too far in search of a forest in some of the high level areas.
Honestly, druids are master's over nature, it doesn't seem too out of place that using magic they could coax any plants in the area to grow at an accelerated place, making the room an acceptable place for the druid to rest and renew it's spells.
Meh... just an idea.
