Wikaz (Werebeast Ranger) vs Lysentos (Stone Paladin)

You edited my post because I said the truth? I killed him and left his stuff, then when he captured me he robbed me? C'mon man. There use to be integrity and honor in fights. Now if I killed him and looted, then by all means have at it, but if I leave your stuff and then you rape me? That's wack as hell. There is nothing wrong with saying what happened. Honestly man, I play this game more than most people and your this close from me deleting and never playing FL again if you keep censoring basic stuff. Stop being so sensitive or your going to lose another player for good.

Wikaz.

I edited your post because you directly insulted the other player. If all you had said was "Hey, I thought it was lame that you looted me after I never looted you" I would probably not have edited it. But you moved beyond that into specifically calling out the character and calling them names which is not acceptable. We say this all the time but if you want to vent, or if you think something unfair has happened, please bring it to the Prayer Forum so we can either look into what happened or just talk it out with you (which we are happy to do).

I have also played here for 20 years and I have been an Immortal for about half that time. I can tell you from experience that during that time we have lost far more players/characters because of Forum and Discord "lynch mobs" than we have because of Immortals editing posts. I am not saying that what happened here was a lynch mob, but this can be how they start.

In future please come to the Prayer Forum.

If im honest id really like to see what this code of honor means.  I've noticed that often times people complaining about something being dishonorable do so when it's advantageous to their situation, but couldnt care less the moment they have to choose between their moral code and profiting.  I even have logs of exactly that scenario playing out in game.

Am I the only one who remembers that 20 years ago it was routine for people to get ganged by groups, for decked level 50 cabal elders to smash ranking groups the moment they came into range, for full loots to be the common and accepted approach and any request for gear to be left for the other player's sake was met with the classic "Harden up, princess"?  Where no-conversation multikilling happened on a regular basis?

Seriously, let's not pretend that FL back in the day was some bastion of classy behavior by the playerbase.  It wasn't.  I was there, I was part of it, I did all of the above myself, and I was one of the nice guys by the forum's standards.

Ahh, simpler times.

A few things.

First, I haven't only fought you at my cabal guard. Any time a city is raided, I go to that city. Any time my cabal is attacked, I go to my cabal. Any time my standard is taken, I go to the opposing cabal. But no, I am not going to fight you just any old place. I am going to favor water rooms and indoor rooms, because they mitigate my two biggest weaknesses against you, which are thunder storm and dirt kick. I hate to break it to you, but this doesn't make me a coward, it just makes me not an idiot.

First of all, you DID take one of my items when you killed me. It was a solid kill, I made a big mistake and you were positioned in the right place, at the right time, with the right debuffs to capitalize on it. Kudos.

After that, I did cap you. Not once, but twice. I didn't attack a mob. I called my blood guard, which apparently puts me back in PK range. And as for healing fast, I'm a paladin. It's kind of the class' bread and butter. I was confident at the point that I cut you off that I at least wasn't going to die again immediately, so I went for it. I don't see how that's unclassy. I also didn't get the kill on you right there, but rather back near your recall. That was your own fault for insisting on keeping your pets while nearly dead, so I knew where you were. That was a mistake you made, and I capitalized on it. Seems to me like we're even on that front...

As for the "full loot" that you copped... in the words of Joe Biden, "Come on, man."

I took three items the first time. Your bag to make sure you didn't have a GOJ card or a skylauncher, an item to replace what you took from me, and an item that was an upgrade compared to what I was already wearing. Three items (the max allowed by confiscate). The second time I capped you, I didn't take anything at all.

Finally, as for "talking smack". Of course my character thinks yours is a coward. IC, my character is a protector of the innocent, and sees yours as a bandit that hides in the shadows until it's time to murder something. Why would my character NOT think yours is a coward?  I've enjoyed our battles back and forth, and I'm really not sure why you're in such a tizzy over this. You win some, you lose some. I didn't wig out when you got your kill, and if you had looted me I would've dealt with it. You had upgrades I needed, so I took them. Seems reasonable from where I'm standing.

What really got me was taking my portable hole man. It took me a long time to find all those ingredient and then poof, all gone. At the end of the day I was heated that day, for obvious reasons. But I'm cooled down and it's all good.

Wikaz.

Your hole got violated and you got mad. It happens.

Or he just attacked them in the cities regardless of being wanted or not. ;)

Shrug Gotta hate them crooked cops.

It used to be a breach of ethos and was punishable.

Lawful ethos isn't breaking the law when you feel like, corrupt or not. Its believing that the law can be manipulated, not broken, to serve you better.

I'm sure everyone will recall Zerg going from E to T more times than a Yo-yo. Wonder if stuff like that had something to do with it?

I suppose at what point of constant disregard to the ethos, not just accidental, but intentional disregard warrants not just a demotion, but being OUTCAST from that ethos? If Zergedelt went from Elder to Trusted so many times, then isn't that evidence that the character's RP is no longer in line with the RP of the lawful ethos?

Why are we derailing this thread? Your or I clearly dont' know what went down, when it went down or the circumstances for it going down. Quite often stuff happens by accident. The characters dead, the imms dealt with whatever... The character made it to Leader, so whatever happened I am sure there was good reason for it. Let it go. Its literally flogging a dead octopus.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

I was speaking on a topic that was originally discussed in your original post about Zergedelt leaving people alone if they weren't warranted. I didn't bring it up and I most assuredly wasn't "flogging a dead octopus".

Ive always thought ethos was a set in stone thing. If you're lawful you don't break laws on purpose

A corrupt cop isnt a good example.  Didnt bali play an fg years ago that tried that angle and he got told what he did was wring because he wasn't actually lawful in action?

Also tarako^

Rules for thee, not for me.

Then that would make you not lawful?

It's only unlawful if you get caught.

^^  should have been Trump's real campaign slogan
