they only had interest in an actual pk, so I can't really get clean detect magics vs how many strikes

landed to document the results, so I am trying to get some hits in combat for the next series of bouts.

2/2 nerves landed with no impact on his shield, 8/17 shadow strikes landed with 

impact on his defense, or offense. I realize I was winning exchanges, it was because of my melee output. The shadow arts debuffs didn't have any impact on the overall fight.

Demons have great stats, we'd really need to see his aff list to know you'd done to him exactly.

I would have to edit out the actual effects list because it is a selectable class skill. I'm just showing the direct combat rounds, and you can see the overall impact shadow arts had on the fight.

at a glance it looks like as the fight went on you started winning the melee harder and harder, maybe the stat deductions played a role?

Know ing what I know about shadow arts, and their eq and skill set, shadow arts didn't even begin to have negative consequences. Melee vs mage. When I kick dirt I land noticable more attacks.

What proof do you have that shadow strikes landing did absolutely nothing and had no impact in the fight?

Looking across eq buffs, class skills, and what I know about the path, and the time the fight took place across, it isn't possible that I applied enough debuffs to have affected their hit dam, or ac to any measurable degree. I highly doubt i was even able to get rid of the ^x they havery in the melee stats. The damage numbers are consistent across the engagements, as are Subjugant's defensive rates. The same goes for blinded vs not blinded. When I kick dirt, I land more hits (that's to be expected vs mages.)

He's at least ^4 dex, and ^3 str. Even if everything went absolutely perfect for shadow arts, I would have brought them to -1 on one stat. Even if I did, one eq swap (crown of might, cuffed bracers, any adeptus eq, death shroud, switching to dragonscale over accuracy) negates everything I was able to do in combat. It's the same story in other logs as well. Minor stat debuffs are irrelevant when I'm spending 50% of my hp to cause them, then 30 to 50% of my mana curing back to safe hp levels across 2 to 4 ticks while those stat debuffs are dropping.

Now to be fair. Spending 30 percent of slith mana. ;)

My mana was right on par with the other melee races. I don't have a shitty pool, I have shitty regen

And that's the problem. I'm being out meleed because status debuff that don't actually do anything. I've never once applied the special nerve strike, even testing vs mobs I could not get it to land. And if it's critical to land it, all the shadow strikes I've hit up until then are useless because nerve has a 5 hour timer til it drops, by which time my shadow arts debuffs have dropped, and I can't stay in combat for five ticks trying to stack more shadow arts unless there is a huge eq disparity, which isn't where you need status debuff anyway. -3 str to a newly pinned under equipped character can be annoying, but -5 str to any character that's been around for a minute is nothing. I could have done -10 and still not have impacted Lentaries ability to wield a weapon, or affected hit dam

I'm sorry, but I look at these rounds and do not see how your being out meleed.  You are landing sometimes 4 decimate/devastates a round.  While at the same time resisting all of his debuffs.  If you want to hit more, then you should shed saves.  Isnt this the point of eq balancing?  To make so you cant sit behind nigh un piercable resists while laying down huge rounds.

ninjas have insane DPS without needing the hit/dam other classes need from my experience.

with fired weapons + study strike you can easily hit 6 times a round (every other round)

I think jutsu is so good I am unsure if there is ever a point to dual wield as a ninja (maybe a few very rare cases)

Gwrugwerra was a feral and with the mini haste my output was sick, and I was rocking a measly 30/30 hit dam in favor of very nice AC and Saves

Vs a blind cleric and 103% weapon proficiency I'm landing melee hits. Importing these logs to show that shadow arts has no effect on any fight vs any opponent. I'm wearing some of the best eq I can get, it's not about combat rounds. It's about a selectable that says it does one thing as per the helpfile, but in practice it doesn't do anything to impact the fight in the slightest. In the Lentaries log, he never missed a single throw. As lotus scourge you could count on lotus landing. Shadow strike is both rng based when it lands, and what it effects. It is the only ninja subclass designed to stay in combat, yet doesn't get two handed. The point of these logs is to showcase that there is something wrong with shadow arts.

 

I'm also in -40 spell saves, mental resist, -20ish mental, and shroud of discord. Mana is important, and I can't be spending it resetting class skills and cabal skills constantly so I invested in saves.

A cleric vs ninja is a horrible example  to answer the question about shadow arts performance. 

The cleric's damage is all from passive effects.  Cutting your regen, recovering and soaking damage, and wearing you out against that steel wall.  You could cut his DeX, and str all day.  If you cant pin him down hes going to outlast you.  He should.  He even wears in your own buffs down faster as temporum.   Prevents your regen, he is attrition.  

Show us a log of vs monk, vs rangers vs thief.  Melees.  That is where the effectiveness should drop vs shadow arts.

There is another log of me vs Lentaries directly under this thread. Lentaries also posted the affects in this thread. Again, it isn't about the win or loss of the fight. I'm not asking g wtf how do I kill cleric guys. I'm showing that even in optimal settings vs characters I have advantages over the skill doesn't do anything. I'm lucky to get 8 rounds in vs keshan, in those 8 rounds statistically I'm gonna try 3 shadow strikes, and land 2 of them best case scenario. So I traded 1k hp, for -2 str. I fought keshan with it. It doesn't do what the helpfile says it does. It does not bypass armor class, the stat debuffs do not stack quickly to dangerous levels. They do not turn a fight to your favor. If you're hitting me for 10 to 20% of my hp per round, and lagging me, why would you bother caring at all about me dropping your str, or dex. At all. This isn't even a stars align scenario, everything could go perfectly in my favor and it won't impact the people the helpfile specifically outlines as the ones I am supposed to battle with.

He posted this other PK log almost simultaneously with this log, where he posted his EQ. Assuming very little changed in between the two fights, Seviks' EQ should look like this.
