Score sheet fully buffed. Normal necro spells + protection from evil, flesh armor and shield, stone skin from bronze spellbooks wears off super quick-think I forgot it here. Not sure what else I can do. 104 parry and 350 ac. 14 total parries, 5 misses, and I didn't parry a single one of Seldslyn's attacks. Well done to him on just thrashing me though. I'm not complaining, just curious if I'm missing something important here, because it's been pretty consistent over my few fights that I don't avoid hardly any attacks.

I think I'm an extremely careful pker by nature (usually dependent on my class - would be more aggressive as an evil thief than say a neutral anything) but I would never stick around this long in a fight. Reset after it doesn't go your way and look for new tactics that he might not be preparing for next time. If you stay high hp and he always has to reapply poison you can win an attrition game. I would also use a lot more fleeing and returning, since it gets pretty disorienting with your little legion to deal with, especially if he lags himself (even better with a 2 round lag command) Also remember you're inductee right now you don't have to prove anything, just survive and your game gets MUCH stronger in a couple of promotions. I think this is a good indicator fight to see what Seldslyn will do or prepare for and you can use this information to change your style accordingly. Great log!

edit: To answer your post fight questions, I think parry was changed a bit ago to be more dependent on STR? Since Illithids have pretty pathetic strength, I feel like your defense should feel more along the lines of invoker style combat where you just get yourself a lot of hp and accept that you will get hit a lot. Then have some weak summoned mobs around the area you decide to fight for some easy vampiric touch regeneration. If any of this is bad advice, a vettier vet should correct me. :)

Bronze spell book < herbal alternative. We need to improve your AC to -500 It is achievable with that dex.
Not one dispel, not one at the Dark Knight, not one at the Lionspride.
Mal saves. He will continue to Curse/Silence you until you get some. Better to stack spell saves if you can. But your -19 MAL = a bad time every time against a DK.

EDIT: You do not appear to have your pets enhanced! Soul Tap even if you have to use your own soul!! Its a must for victory.

Soul tap to get enhanced pets, else they are pretty useless. Dispel and acid blast are the only two spells I would use unless you get the sleep spell to land. Unless they have absolutely terrible saves (which is rare) mals are too difficult to land as a necromancer. It is a waste mana and lag while an enemy is awake and wrecking you every round.

Parry sucks for mages and even worse for illithid. Get used to this type of treatment as a mage. Your only hope imo is to outdamage them which will require a dispel in most cases.

Out of curiosity, why did you land curse then go straight for acid blasts? Blind (before your charmie dirt kicked,) weaken, plague, ghoul touch...all great options to use here. And yes...the dispel on the charmie is always a very viable and annoying tactic.

I have not played illithid. Not sure if you can wear a shield.

Promotions will help, as you will be able to extend that little spell books timer. But there is an item that grants that spell....

The ghoul is a harder path then the mummy, it will require you to be aggressive, almost fool hardily so, to be successful.

The mummy callers get the extra defense to cut the 15% per round to 10%. You HAVE to enhance that Ghoul!

I had to die to a WM to collect my own soul, to return and give him a fair fight. TY @Kyzarius for saying it first. Even if its your OWN Soul!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Been a long time since I played, and even longer since I fought anyone seriously at 50. I literally straight up forgot or didn’t realize a few things. I need to remember to soul tap. Last time I played a necro they didn’t have it. And malls land a little easier with my path, so I keep trying. And I almost never think to dispel, because pets can apply some really good debuffs. Plus I don’t wanna dispel my own stuff.

I know I get some help as I promote, but I don’t care too much for just running from Amy and everyone for quite a few more hours.

I appreciate all the help, folks. Hopefully I can keep my head on straight next time. Had the pk jitters on this one.

During the very first round your ghost got left behind, so during that whole 2nd engagement it was missing.

At the end I had 300hp left, while you shouldn't forget you get a whole 2nd life. It was a lot closer than you think.

If you had your whole army + them being enhanced, it would of easily gone the other way. Double your ac and you win.

Some tips.

So first thing. You are an illithid. You dont get to parry. You have the worse parry in the game. Dump the + parry skill its like taking a tissue and using 2 ply instead of 1. Still tissue.
-350 ac is garbage you need around -500. Get -500 whole buffed as a base then focus hp. Should have at least 1200 hp. Hold an item like the greater ward and get a big ac shield.

3 . Dispel the charmie. It will attack the dk about 80% of the time. And hunt them.

Do not sit there watching those attacks. Flee. Return with a spell. Flee eat hearts, flee use efuzans ball, flee quaff nectars. Flee return with key spells.
Someone said it, but soul tap. Your pets are way stronger as this applies strengtg damned and it lasts their entire life.
You landed curse, next should be either blind or dispel. Dispel almost aleays gets fly if it succeeds, and your pets trip like crazy. Now curse is a maledictive, landed in one try, go for other mals. Ghouls touch and blind are your best ones imo. Also age reduces melee prof and saves and never misses. You missed blind. Oh well, flee and re-engage.
Spell level. Now soul tap is +1 mal level, and your trusted temporum spell is another.
On soul tap. C 'loc' corpse. Whenever people are on. No shame man. Hunt those souls.

Just some pointers. I have made chum of a lot of melees with illithid necros. The fight was closer than you think. Of you had leveraged your pets and had strength damned on them it eould of been much more tilted towards you.

@Seldslyn I know people say it’s a whole extra life, but all my mana gets burned and I have literally only pets at that point. It’s really dangerous to try and use shock to get a kill. Thanks for the adrenaline rush running at such low hp.

How? I have no idea where to get all that extra ac AND another 200 hp.
Yeah, just dropped the ball on all dispels.
Half my lag came from spells, the other from my pets rescuing. Definitely wasn’t just watching rounds fly by.
Didn’t realize soul tap was strength damned. Like I said in earlier post, wasn’t around last time I played, and haven’t wanted to burn the one soul I have without fighting someone, since I assume it buffed me. Then I forgot to use it
I’m still inductee, but I’ll definitely be using age when I get it. Ghoul touch slipped my mind.
See 5. And when I get T, for sure.
I would, but my play time sees me on either alone, or with 1-2 other people. There’s no corpses to look for.

Idk if you have some of this already but my go to for combat ready with that combo is crustacean rings, coifs from the arena there is a socket in the elemental canyon that adds ac. The slab from the gorgorak, or warshield of invulnerability. Sheath of burning acid has a socket, or go for faerie belt, Hold the major ward. Cube of force for light, battlecaster hood from the asylum lr the squids scalp as a helm. As some examples.

The savant face piece and robe are superb. Farm cp doing guild quests.

Dont forget shield, armor, stone skin, flesh armor Is -100. Master reverse time immediatly when you get it. This turns roughly 1 tic into 23.

Rescue is a trap. Two rounds lag and you dont have any melee to get auto engage bonus hits. Best bet is flee and return. If they can see its bogus retarhetong has 0 lag.

PM @Unknown Brother he had -800 on his illithid.

I know hw was going through some personal struggles but he might advise you how to drees.

Also might look at logs between Cyprian and others, someone may have "looked" at him during the fights. Just a thought.

No, unless you are going to be going against a monster....then it sure helps. This fight would have been much more successful with better tactics. All of those have already been covered.

Unless you are one of those people who win every encounter and claim to never use any consumables.

I myself, let me forget one thing, I don't care if it's detect magic or comprehend language, I'll get pooped on like a toddler versus T-rex.

For an illithid necro, which I've never played, I'd imagine that your eq would change depending on who you are fighting, for dks probably some ac and -maled gear. You can find a lot of -maled in a few easy to get pieces, some of them have decent -ac.
