Well, I mean, hard to tell you anything is wrong with ninjas when you suck at running apparently.  8-10 failed movements, you could have been long gone.  Looks like he got the drop on you, you tried to cure thru disruption, then failed to run away very well....but hey...OP!!!

Haven't seen that sword Cenlar is using in ages! Thought it no longer existed hehe. (also thought it was warrior only?)

What surprised me is that a feral is using two weapons that proc flaming bite...

IMO feral should not be able to touch an ember, nor that sword in it's fiery state.

You need to get out of the habit of fleeing, moving 1 room, and trying to heal/recall/survive. 

This is currently your #1 survival problem.

It was warrior only, but that changed a while back.

Agreed.  The pattern that I found works for me on communers is moving five rooms (more if you're going the same direction or along a corridor - the heal dance only works well in relatively open spaces where you can randomize the direction of movement), dropping a cure, then moving a similar amount before curing again.  Chasing takes time, even for the fastest chaser - many rely less on actually finding their opponent on where/scan than they do on intuitively knowing how an enemy is likely to move, so you need to be somewhat unpredictable and throw in random movements to force them to rely on the slower where/scan methods of finding you.

The single most important thing about the heal dance is not to spam.  Cast cure crit ONCE, then hit enter - so you will know when the lag is gone - Still safe? Rinse repeat.  What people do is spam in Cure Crit like 3 times, it is a panic reflex than comes from thinking they need to heal fast.  Spamming the spell doesn't change how fast you are going to heal.

I've found the most successful communers/mages are those who run when the going gets tough, find a safe location, and then heal and/or sleep.

There's nothing wrong with running like hell when it looks bad and then healing when it's safe. There's a lot of wrong by fleeing one or two rooms, curing five times, and hoping he doesn't find you, lag you, and kill you.
