IMMs aren't moderating the forum at ALL.. Its the wild west on successful characters right now. The open flaming is out of this world.
People are complaining about combos and classes that have been around for a LONG time.
That players that put time and energy into their character are being guilt-tripped into feeling like they are negatively affecting the game. At least, that's how I feel.
If there is an issue with a particular character's balance then that is the Staff's responsibility to fix, not the player's. I can not change bards, for example. Just like Lelleaila can't change Psionicists.
It's not just based on this one event. I don't even care lol it had nothing to do with me I just think it is funny because I am 100% sure this player knew exactly what was going on but to save face they add that little comment to appear innocent...Guilty conscience maybe? I dunno.
And yah clearly Brauk waited for the dispel to charge in, again I don't care and im not blaming Lel for that. But why say you never saw it? Blind or not it's pretty obvious someone else attacked between the additional yell and the massive round that followed.
@Trick yes there is a lot of griping going on I agree and flaming of characters.
I, however, am not flaming any characters here. I am just commenting on a player who is very quick to brag about how amazing they are on the one hand but as soon as something involving them looks shady or trashy they immediately and preemptively play the innocent card.
Nepta charged in on two knights standing at their altar. Then dirt kicke done of them. I entered my singularity immediatly after i noticed my dispel had hit, and before brauk even charged and watched as it ended.
I never even noticed he had charged until i looked at the log because the battle was over in 3 rounds. And the round was so long it spammed out of my client.
my very next cabal chat was actually "what happened!" "was that Nepta?"
I didnt do anything wrong, I dont deserve to be berated for this.
I am not berating or attacking you for these in game events. I could care less if some wannabe bounty hunter suicides to two Knights at the altar.
My only comment is that I think it is funny how you as a player is very boastful of your skill and experience in this game but as soon as someone makes a comment about your actions, whether on the open forum or via PM your immediate reply is "oh I had no idea that was happening", or "I didn't even know what that I item I sacced was" etc...
If anyone is to blame here, it's Brauk. But he did not do anything against the rules, so kinda hard to blame him.
Dispel lands
Brauk charges on the last pulse of the tick so his charge and the round blend together.
A spell lands and kills Nepta
That all happened in probably 2 seconds...but we wanna castrate someone for not being able to control a situation they were not anticipating which was over in a matter of seconds?
I love this place.
In fact, blame Nepta. Blame anyone who, because of how soft FL has become, thinks they can walk up to a cabal altar with two cabaled ppl standing there and not get attacked by both.
Nepta I don't really blame you...I know you posted this log because of how sick dying that fast was and not because you were trying to cast shade on anyone...everyone else did that for you...and it's them I blame, on your behalf. Or something like that.
Considering the fact that my client takes up my entire screen and I stopped the snippet above exactly where it would end if it had been me attacking/being attacked, I missed Brauk charging too. And knowing that those rounds usually tend to pop super fast, I'd say they're innocent. It's not something you can't really specifically say with any definitive proof since you aren't the player behind the character who did it, nor can I really since I am not the player either. But considering I've seen things similar like this first hand, I'm more on the side of Lelleiala on having missed it entirely. Assuming the adrenaline wasn't surging, I'm sure they noticed Brauk attacking Nepta, but a 3 round fight you can't flee from it. That's just the hard facts of that situation. Even if it had been another Good aligned character had that happened to her, she's getting a damnation period.
As far as preventative issues, sure some things could've been done differently. Like attacking before walking into their altar and knowing you're going to be attacked by at least 4 things at once for doing so. If the goal is to do that in the future, I'd suggest doing so far away from any Cabal altar so you only deal with 3 things at once. And play it very smart. There's a possibility for that to hit and happen, but I am not sure how successful it is versus saves of other characters. When it comes down to it, you've got to go in with a very clear strategy for both offensive and defensive capabilities in case offensive fails, fall back to defensive. And I would refrain from flying against her after seeing how much damage you took at that point. If you're worried about being tripped, it may be better to just be tripped and last a couple more rounds because at least you're not going to lose around ~200hp just from getting knocked to the ground.
The only thing I see wrong in this log except is how reliable her dispel is.
Does that particular psi make this kind of mistakes often? She sure does, but in this very situation, it's not her fault really. It's noone's fault (except perhaps Brauk's, to a small extend). Either way, once your reputation gets rolling, it's hard to shake it off. Can't blame anyone but yourself for this though.
Usually she has the Radiance and the Dragon Mask, so pretty much lvl 52 dispel happening. So does that mean what? Only ring of abyss will stop? I have no idea. I wonder what kind of mental protections you would need to have her miss a few times. I'm guessing 50ish. Harg, what was your saves on mental at when you beat her?
(Post me as anonymous please)
I don't think I had more than -20mental both times... I just went for the damage and hoped for the best ?
Well there you have it kids. Storm ranger, with mental vuln (wait.. is harg storm or stone?) having only -20 mental taking it home to pappa. Not once, but twice. What's that you say? Time to bring out your ranger? I think so. I didn't have any problems with her as Yewtrunk but got my butt whooped with another character I tried a while back. Time to put it to the test! Alright, I've never really played a ranger so anyone who has had some successful ones PM me for some pointers.. I'm going PSI HUNTING to test a theory!!
I will clear this right up. And I do not need to hide behind an anonymous flag to do it. Yes. Nepta walked in and I charged. But what none of you realize is that it was all done at pretty much the same time. The dirt kick, the dispel, the charge. After that, what do you think would happen? Hell, I can't flee. Last I checked you protect your altar. What I am sick of, is that people flame bate EVERY chance they get. It's an effing game to be played for fun. You wanna flame go eat a big one. You wanna get technical? Now it doesn't make it right in my eyes, but, the same argument comes up, oh they both attacked me. Well guess what its allowed. I say that because there is ALWAYS a long thread of how people think this is OP or that is OP just because they aren't getting the results they WANT.
PS Nothing at all against Nepta. Hell I give props to Nepta. They aren't the ones whining and complaining.
61 vs mental is not 100% guarantee to not be dispelled. With the spell level Lel is casting I would estimate her having like ~10% (probably wrong with changes) of landing her regular dispel. If you ask me if your mental saves are adequate, I would say yes they are, you just got unlucky to be dispelled on 1th try.You are also slightly lacking on afflictive saves and greatly on tactics. For me 37 aff saves is low.
I would not face a Invoker with that kind of saves, and that is how we must see her character. We must treat a character whose primary offensive style is elemental damage spells as one would deal with an invoker. Not lag ourselves (nothing you could do about the charge, sometimes stuff happens) because dispel+burst is deadly. Use a L60 sanctuary (and this is why I hate meeles having the glimmering) to improve your chances of keeping sanctuary on a dispel. Not using fireshield vs a mage who can't hit you with meele and that cast ELEMENTAL damage spells, if one is worried about pet damage then get a scroll of plague and recite it on the pets. And gathering some knowledge on the class (which can be hard if you never played against or that particular combo) like for example understand from logs/forums why there was a change to -redacted by self- must now be following you.
Use a L60 sanctuary (and this is why I hate meeles having the glimmering) ...
Object 'glimmering white staff' is type staff, material ivory.
Extra flags: hum rotdeath USABLE.
Weight is 10, value is 9, level is 50.
Has 15 charges of level 50 'sanctuary'.
Rare item.
@mya Show me where the identify told you glimmering staves were L60. That ID was taken on January 20, 2015 and has been that way from at least March 6, 2013.
@Killfiend Your altar wasn't under attack. I would have understood if it was, but it was Lel that was attacked, so it doesn't really matter the room you were in.

People make mistakes. edited
The cabal was attacked. You don't attack the altar unless they have your standard. But you do attack the guard.
