For this battle royale, I used all of my extreme preps and life insurance.

I started the battle using a power staff, then I switched to my arctron/monorod combo and starting logging.

Use a two handed weapon when facing one in a melee vs melee battle.  Two handed weapons (especially polearms and staves) are more than defensive enough to win a damage war vs a dual wielder.  A staff will help a lot once you get him blinded - however, the powerstaff lacks the avg. damage to be effective.  Find a higher damage staff and test it.

 

Above, perhaps try the Acrtron on it's own (it's 2h?).  It's damage and properties make it a sound choice.

Some good advice above - I'd also say - know when its done.

 

You had him on the ropes, You were both low - but he got out.  He has ways to heal himself up fairly quickly - and you had to take a break to reset spells etc.

 

Its done at this point - pull out.  Heal up - and try again - incorporating anything you have learned and try new tactics.  Don't try and force it once the battle has turned in his favour - which it did as soon as you had to take the pressure off him,

I may be crazy, and it's been a long time since I've played a vampire, but I don't think that was an option.

Were you using two weapons with the same damage noun, or did your second weapon literally never hit him?

 

If that's the case, you could have switched to a shield (since he had missile protection up for most of the fight), or taken advantage of the Arctron's two-handed defense (as L-A already mentioned).

 

At the very least - and I'll confess I don't know the +stats on the Hunter Eternal - a floater may have been more advantageous than leaving your bow on. Every little bit helps, as strong characters are usually built on multiple small advantages rather than one significant one.

There is no removing that bow.
