Personally, you should have fled somewhere between fail attempt 4, 6, or 9. You were losing between 80-140 hp a round. He was at quite a few wounds last you saw his condition. You'll need 3-5 rounds to finish him with what you were using. That means you'd need the HP to last. Zaiis is a chaser. So you could have run to a better area for yourself. shrug Fury is nasty, but so is the Feral vuln.

WOW that's a lot of failed casts. Wasn't someone saying earlier that fury wasn't effective enough?

Entirely bad luck with Ingel there.  You were 2 of 5 before he got the second fury in, then went 0 for 9.  And where you saw that second fury land is where you ended up dying.  Flee til the tick then quaff recall.  Teleport if need be.

 

But that's all I've got.  Sorry.

^^ What he said. I'd get ac up and stock up recall potions. I think it's difficult to remember the run/quaff recall method when having played a caster for some time. I notice I get too reliant on my ability to cast it that I don't run far enough or collect enough consumables. This fight seemed like you ate too many rounds that you didn't have to and did not run far enough after fleeing.

Also, I think your pointing out that this was an unlucky round doesn't prove much. When furied you aren't supposed to stand by and eat it like you did. Flee, let fury drop, and go again. Fury does miss, you just need to play more attrition for hopeful opportunities to capitalize. I guarantee you have more HP than a feral ranger, you sat there eating damage for way too many rounds. Hit and run, not toe to toe, is the tactic I think works best here.

One more, fury is a 2 round skill, so when he furies once, flee away because fury stacks. Next round he'll eat a firestorm and hopefully miss a fury. If not, rinse and repeat. If he misses a fury that's FOUR fireballs..

So Ingel basically wants to show us that even invokers sometimes need tactics.

This was what happened. Fear proficiency drop coupled with Fury pseudo proficiency drop. And a dose of bad luck.

 

I would say to get a +Fireball % armor. I would say call lightning, but there is none.

Perhaps get a wheel and spam hellstream.

 

Heroic perk 600% fear resist bonus is looking attractive this days.

The best advice is that you should have fled and ran around.  You were blind, furied and feared.  That's a trifecta of fail right there.

 

Also, fire shield and you're a high-INT invoker...try dispelling

in my expierence invoker can do nothing against feral who hold little bit saves - fire shield, firestorm, fireball useless. Also dispel dont work perfectly, running will gives you some time, but nothing more.

F0xx just told you all kinds of shit to do that Ingel did wrong. So, to say there is nothing an Invoker can do vs a feral is ridiculous. Ingel had a very poor showing and I doubt he posted this log as a *" **ferals are too strong *" log and more of a " help me " log. 

 

Thank you, Ingel, for posting a LOSS that you, and apparently everyone else who says ferals are too strong vs invokers, can learn from.

Basically, you just stood there and waited to die. A very avoidable death. As I've already told you, there is no reason not to outrun a fury, same as you can outrun a dirt kick. Know the terrain, know how to run blind. I know some players excel in this and give a chaser nightmares (e.g. Tork). Even if you do not know the terrain well, chances are if you run around a bit the tick will pass before they reengage. Recall would most likely not have worked after 2 landed furies, but a potion would have.
