I'd suggest a history command to be added that would be designed to be available to other players, rather than solely immortals: rumours.
Rumours would work exactly that history, personality, and purpose, except it would show up publicly in your 'bio'. What would you put in the rumours? Essentially, any information that other characters might have heard about you, which could range anything from being disinherited from your father to having a vast collection of globular glass objects.
More importantly, it could serve as getting people involved in your roleplaying arcs. Let's assume your character has an interest in alchemy and is trying to figure out the secrets of transfiguration. Well, put a paragraph about it in your rumours, and now like-minded folk can see it. Et cetera.
a "rumors" aspect is already in discussion/the works to facilitate character renown and current events to the masses.
also our histories, including personality and purpose, are now being used in the Library for Faces In Time. which means characters with staying power and influence will certainly be added if they so choose.
as for getting people involved with roleplaying arcs, sending scrolls through the Heralds about looking for another Alchemist to work on a project, seeking materials, yada yada, etc... can all be done just by using our existing channels.
it's great that you're really thinking of ways to further roleplay, I just don't see how this is needed or would provide anything actual roleplay wouldn't. JMO.
This allows the Herald to read the history, background, personality, etc of a character a though they were that character. Only works on characters who have been historychecked.

The problem is that unless you're having the Heralds submit notes for you over and over again, scrolls are going to disappear. I have no idea what the Library for Faces in Time is at all.
