Syndicate Alliance

I think we shouldn't have a bounty buy-out facility. Rightfully so I think Syndicate should be on an island of glory, available for hire to all.

For the past number of years, being in Nexus has automatically equalled bounty exemption. Sure you have to buy the bounty out, but realistically you have never had a thing to fear from that cabal - especially with guild quests giving very easy cps. 

Argument: Oh but syndicate could alliance with anyone they want to.

Obviously this is true, however historically speaking, can any shed some light when Syndicate has been in alliance with anyone but Nexus for an extended period of time? And by extended lets just say even 5% of the time they have been aligned with Nexus.

I want to be able to bounty Thulgan or that demon and at least know they are going to be harassed and possibly killing each other - 1 less threat to me either way. Just look at the top ten, no Nexian - Although they are the most POWERFUL in the Lands by a country mile, are even on the list!

At this point they have had an advantage not available to any other cabal - no matter the strength of Savant or the prowess of Warmaster they have always been in Nexus' little pocket. 

Make a change. Make it a free for all. OR allow anyone to buy out at 4x the bid.

How to bounty someone so they can't buy it out?  Don't be cheap and you can't be bought out.

You're missing the point somewhat.

Truthfully I think that being a Syndicate ally should give you more perks than it currently does.  Especially since the NA-pact perk was broken for 10 + years.

Syndicates, or the one that is in the lands when a buyout happens should get the CPs of the buyout.

That being said, back when Kurvikhel was Leader, Syndicate and Nexus were actually in war for a very long time.

Buying out bounties - while it's true that now with guild quests buying out is easier, the opposite can also be said about placing bounties. What I think is wrong in this whole situation is that other allies should have benefits as big as being an ally to syndicate.

Lets say Knight ally with Warmaster - what do the two cabals gain other than the obvious?

Some people are cheep on the bounties.

I have counter bountied people into the first spot. If one wants Syndicate to apply themselves, one must provide incentive.

I once spend 3000 cps in increments of 1000 and still couldn't get my target to the first spot.

Hell, If I bountied someone hard, I make sure to send a note to Syndicate saying so and so is worth 3000 cps.

If they were allied with the Syndicate I would send a note to all. Since allies are collected last.

Other cabals get a CP bonus related armies and land owned.  Or am I mistaken?

Syndicate is the only cabal where an 'additional' perk is given.

I'm not so sure that syndicate should even have allies. They are the only pk cabal without a hardcoded vendetta. I think syndis should operate by themselves and be able to buyout any bounty at like 5x cost except for top 3.

I certainly see your point Aulian and I agree that it eliminates a facet by which to see your enemies defeated... but then, I think the Syndicate should be able to make pacts/alliances with whomever they feel would benefit them and their cause... just as anyone aligned with the Syndicate should have a degree of camaraderie. (I actually like that the top 3 bounties can't be bought-out... Syndicate is a cabal with the coup system after all... hence the -degree- of camaraderie) 

what should be put in the Spooky Morlhach section is an idea to make having a pact/trade/alliance with ALL the Cabals just as beneficial (with game mechanics) as any other. an alliance with Syndicate is sought over the others because of the perk of being able to buyout a bounty. -over the years, I've seen more IG politics founded on game mechanics than an actual rp motive... forming Alliances with the Syndicate are chiefly among them-

I've played a number of both Syndicate and Nexus. That being said I agree with Aulian. Even though the top 3 bounties can NOT be bought out, RARELY will you see a Syndicate going after a Nexus with a bounty. Top 3 or not. And someone gets up in arms over that comment, notice I said RARELY.

I'd also like to see cabal alliance perks with all cabals, not just Syndicate.

Ally with Knight? Boom free mounts courtesy of the Knight stables.

Ally with Savant? The city-gates are now free of charge.

Ally with Tribunal? You can now be the sole witness to a crime, no longer requiring two.

Ally with Herald? Bahah...sucks to be you.

Ally with Nexus or Warmaster? I dunno I ran out of ideas. Someone else pick up the torch.

I think ally with Syndicate in general makes no sense without an actual vendetta. Syndi is all about profit. Well, how do they profit from having an ally? They have no hard coded vendetta for their allies to help with. I've watched Syndi's return Nexus standards (as per alliance). Etc. Point is, why is a group who is decidedly bent on profit taking actions that only help others. Their acting more like evil Knights right now than Mafia.

the way I look at it is... even if making a profit is your primary goal... that's not always going to be your primary reason for making pacts/trades/alliances. 

I could easily see the Syndi (rp wise) willing to make an alliance with whatever cabal proves to be the big powerhouse... simply because that's muscle they have on their side. the Syndi have a monopoly on all profit making anyway... so, what do they have to gain by not forming an alliance with someone? 

The Forsaken, I like some of those ideas... I'll give it a think and, if I come up with anything, make a post for it.

Rarely? I can count on my fingers (which is 0) where I've seen a Syndicate actually go after a formidable, higher than Member Nexus, I hate to say.

Offer promotions for Top1 kills. That will make people try harder.

I like this, I'll see if there's something floating around about the alliance system I'm not aware of, then see if we can't make some adjustments here.

Yeah...I just said that in case someone got their panties in a twist. I'm sure it has to have happened at least once though.
