this is a purely cosmetic suggestion that doesn't really effect anything one way or the other, but it bugs me nonetheless...
I see Druids more as Invokers of Nature and our current Invokers as Evokers of the Elements.
invoke: appeal to (someone or something) as an authority for an action or in support of an argument.
evoke: bring into being or recall to the conscious mind.
I understand what you're getting at, but Invokers are more Invokers than Evokers in the traditional sense.
Evokers are like Conjurers, using magic to summon powerful elemental beings, etc.
Invokers conjure the spells out of the ether (or with mana) and use the elements to their advantage.
I really don't see changing the class name.
okie dokie, thanks for the reply. your perspective is certainly reasonable, especially enough not to warrant the leg work of changing the name. I've just always associated our Invoker class with dnd wizards that specialize in the school of evocation magic. of course, FL isn't DnD.
