Bump desc level to 30.

I believe there is a thread somewhere about this already. Basically by bumping it to 30 your almost never going to run into the "waiting on a check to do ANYTHING" problem. I realize that you can a fair bit of the time catch a dcheck below level 15, but there is a fair amount of time when you simply can't.

With the exp breast implants, 15 simply comes too quickly.

+2 I waited four days last time. WITH a dcheck on day one and a post in prayer.

Holiday season may have something to do with this you guys...but I would like to see desc-checks moved to 30 as well.

Not 30. 20 or 25 maybe.

Descriptions have always been a pain in the arse IMO. I really think they should be optional but with a huge reward if you use them. The staff have never really been able to keep up with them in a way that pleases the players, and the players really have never liked them much to begin with.

I understand the reason for them, but when you are giving shortcuts left and right anyways... why not try this out for a month and see how it goes?

They're not going to be optional. It is RP enforced and this means descriptions will continue to be part of the environment.

This idea has been passed around for a VERY long time. Why have we not at least tried it?

The highest I would ever foresee it going would be 20 and it is simply not worth the time to move it up five levels. There are more important issues on the docket and you may be as facetious as you like about the docket. You'll be quite happy soon enough, though, I assure you. There are some PK issues that are coming off the top of my head, personally, but the top one to keep in mind is that PK abuse is less likely being held off at 15. Makes people put some effort into the character. Mind you, that's secondary to the being lower on the list of things being worked on currently.

Thank you.

Also, no, I will not go into more detail on any of this and this is my final say on the subject matter. A constant complaint is that no IMM ever chimes in. I just did.

This is a shelf suggestion that I wanted debated. Right now I see a healthy debate. I am not suggesting that the idea should take top priority though

I'll stand by my old opinion that the bio feature has made descriptions largely redundant.

In my view the Description enforcement is a RP related mechanic.

It function is to force every +15 rank character to have a description of a certain quality.

I propose a compromise to the original idea. A two phase system.

1) We move mandatory description approval to the maximum of L30 (or 20 or 29 , it's a detail).

2) We enforce mandatory description submission at L15 through Dcheck.

This way we ensure that every character has a description past L15. As the actual system, but move the actual approval or restriction to progress to L30.

Reducing waiting time.

This allows players waiting a Dcheck to actually be playing instead of waiting, should the approval opportunity not occur during the initial levels.

This would also allows IMMs to have some more time to aid newbies with desc's. And could allow an increase in the description quality, since it should remove most pressure to approve descs.

It could also create a niche PK at the cut off level, which might be good, since ~30 PK is quite entertaining and dynamic. All those not interested in this kind of niche PK can just get the approval and power rank through it.

Niche PK is not a bad thing. Bored Qrace applicants are.

Who are you and what have you done with Mya.

You are making a habit of posting good ideas, without a serious lack of absolute crazy in them. I don't like it.

What Mya just posted is actually a good idea.

That is a solid idea, Mya.

Mya posting good ideas?! Did the world end at 12/12/12 after all?

That is awesome! DOOOO EEEET!!!!

Love my Mya.

Always.

Mya wins!

Nothing like picking how your character looks then just adding adjectives to further describe how blue your eyes are etc. not ranting i don't mind writing them but i do in my heart agree with Celerity.
