allowed to attempt some sort of WM imm-sanctioned overthrow of a higher rank
via a challenge.

And I say nay just because you'll be promoted based on the Imm involved. I am for coup in Cabals that are specifically catered to Evils specifically and backstabbers, but Warmaster is geared more honorable than that. Even Barbarians have a code of honor. Now you could always make noise about a Barbarian Elder who doesn't log on enough and say he's becoming weak in his old age or the likes, but you can RP it as a challenge and if you win they could have the option to step down or you could do your nifty skill set on them as they're down on the ground.

As far as incentive to the higher up involved, just the honor and glory of bashing someone to the ground who wants your position within the camp should be enough, extra CPs would be gravy. Would be kind of neat if these challenges could end up on your record differently than normal challenges so people can look at you and see how many attempts at an overthrow you thwarted.

That's my issue. How is there more honor and glory if I put up my title than if I beat you in a standard challenge? There's no reason for me to risk more in my mind. If you bet a dollar, I am not gonna bet ten just to make you feel like you had a "fair" shake. By risking more, I am being unfair to myself and you gotta take care of #1.
