Would it be terribly difficult to take the code for moderates and apply it to life insurance? Meaning, if I have life insurance and I die, none of my nonrares can be looted and I can only lose a certain number of rare items?

Remove life insurance, you now have items from your cabal that are quite decent and can be instantly equipped.
OR
Keep life insurance, instead make cabal'd peoples armor wear out. After having that unique ring of ultimate evil for x amount of hours/deaths it crumbles after considerable wear.

But, now that there are three rares that poof on death even with life insurance, there's no need for further change. I think this balances that issue out quite well. For me, it is usully at least 1 or 2 of my most difficult to find/gain pieces that crumble. Example: last time was torso of adeptus and two other items, time before was mournblade, monorod and ice armor, time before that was spell turning helm, mournblade and some other piece

Two rares.
He prolly had rotdeath items. If you get geared with alot of rotdeath items, you tend to lose a lot more then two items.

I would extend that in to including the system of only being able to loot a limited few items from others as well. If the user wants a pacifier in his mouth when he pks, he might as well wear a diaper. =)

What does this have to do with anything? I don't like the idea of life insurance either. But its dumb and disadvantageous not to use it. Hence why my **characters **use it all the time. I don't like how some ninja or sader skills work but I still play them from time to time.

I took advantage of an available mechanic? Not only that but I killed enough of your cronies to ensure I could have the upkeep
I also remember killing you a number of times with LI - not that its a problem.

I honestly can't remember the last time Life Insurance helped me at all. Every time I go to use it, I become overly cautious and end up wasting all 72 hours of it.
