I was thinking... if it isn't closely guarded info, could/should we post a general set of guidelines for how to get promoted within your respective cabal the fastest, or, most reliably? For instance, when time stops being all that is required, what else is looked for?
Promotion Guidelines
Different cabals have different requirements. As well as being at the descretion of the Immortal leader.
That being said, there are some consistent and reliable habits that will get you inducted and promoted in any cabal faster.
1, Read the cabal lore available in game, and incorporate thi sinto your RP. Embrace the ideology in character that your cabal favors and your RP will stand out.
2, Notes mean visibility. Getting promoted from V to T is often times just being the apple of your imms eye. Get their attention by writting ic notes in game to your cabal, to your enemy cabals, and incorporate themes that identify with the cabal.
3, Not everyone can do this, but if you are the one in your cabal that is helping everyone, showing them areas, sharing strategies, you tend to gain favor quicker.
4, When your imm DOES task you, complete the task with fervor, and ALWAYS remain IC about it, EVEN IF YOU FAIL.
In some cabals PK is more important than others, but respecting and knowing your cabals specific PK rules is very important to avoid penalties and gain promotions. RP though is the king of promotions, nobody has ever (that I have seen) been promoted up rapidly on PK alone, but on RP alone you can easily fly to trusted if you are thorough, consistent, and truly understand your cabals lore (showing this understanding in your RP).

Kyzarius hit the nail on the head. There are a host of other considerations when we look at cabal applicants/possible promotions, but those guidelines he outlined in his post are gold from top to bottom.
