Equipment Dyes

Various other games have features that you can use to 'dye' your equipment different colors, mostly at a cost. I purpose that FL implement a way to have your equipment dyed, so instead of 'Spiked Gauntlets' It will have (Crimson Red) Spiked Gauntlets. Obviously the part in parenthesis would be the color noted. I would not make it available to everyone that has a spare 250,000 gold. Make a point system for excellent RP or PK. Let say there's an awesome tea party, (Yes that's how I classify RP sessions) give all those involved a currency point that could be spent to dye a piece of equipment. On the other side, lets say there is one Knight online, and four Nexus. The Knight shows all the Nexus that he isn't afraid, sticks around and fights the war. Give the Knight some currency points to spend. I in no way would want this gear to be owner only. Make it the same item, just colored. Maybe even rotdeath.

As of now, I'm aware IMM's give out restrung equipment to players with different colors on it. This would make them more prevalent, as people will be upping their game to have a set of colored equipment.

I thought of that, but came to the conclusion that it could have issues with various clients. Lets say an assassin dyes all of their gear pitch black. Some clients might have problems viewing that, and if at any point someone looks at the assassin and could not see what he was wearing because of client issues, then that would be no bueno. I'd think flagging it with ( )'s would be a better option.

Don't let black or white be an option as the backgrounds of certain clients are one of the two.

I would love the ability to customize equipment via "rp points" or excellent displays of PK/Class in heated PK. I suggested the idea quite some time ago.

I have noticed, however, that if your constantly RPing and keeping it classy you get nifty gifts from Imms anyway. In the form of restrung stock items. You can get the same if you just act out your character.

True, but this is more or less an IMM customizing your toon. I think it would be great if we could do some of our own customization.

Actually I think it's a pretty nifty idea. Add in the color sort of like Cabal flags. If you're in a Cabal or even have a store sell the dye packs for various pieces of clothing so that they can be many colors for say 100,000 gold or so.

Color is kind of handy though and makes things pop to life. We could limit items to be specific colors though based on their properties if need be so that it's easier to notice certain items. Then there wouldn't be too much of a problem with it being blinding.
