New Command "Light"

Full disclosure, I have been playing Minecraft recently...

I though it would be cool to be able to light things on fire, so, flammable liquids (oil, etc), wooden torches, brass lamps. Could have a new object attribute, so it would look like:

(Burning) A bundle of wood is here, burning.

The "burning" adjective could be appended to the long description of the object.

Uses? Could be a lot. One, it would light dark rooms. Two, could be used as a weapon, to light someone or something on fire. Three, could be used to destroy an item (scroll, boat, body...you get the idea).

I'd say in order to light something on fire you'd need a flame source, like a lamp, or match, or flint and steel (yes, Minecraft).

C'mon baby light my fire

+1

+1 Try to set the night on fire

No baby please do not light my fire, I do not wish to see the ferals suck even more.

FLAME ON!

Burninating the country-side, burninating the people...

and The Thatch Roof Cottagess!!

Thatch Roof Cottagessssssss!!!

I believe that it would improve the ability to RP some characters if this were implemented. Suddenly goods could destroy their corpses before some necro has a chance to make a zombie out of them. Evils could burn the corpse to keep some healer from undoing their work. Maybe this is not the best solution, but it is atleast looking the right direction, in some ways.

Healers can't "undo" anyone's work anyway...
