Oh I did say ice bashes didn't I
I meant to say fire bashes and yes its mostly still around just the wording of the effect was changed for some reason' date=' I personally think the change is a bit bland.[/quote']
Eh, would be nice to have an IMM input on this matter. I am certain there was a change saying fire giants wont have extra damage on their bash against ferals, which seems logical since fire giants are NOT made of fire...
But on the other hand, if the noun has been changed, why keep the mechanics? Or, if you are going to keep the mechanics, why change the word?
A bit off topic, sorry.
races
Fire giants's bashes/bodyslams are always fire based, that's why magically immune mobs are unaffected to them. The damage is just a bit random as it is with normal bashes.

If it is like you say, then the chance of getting a fire bash must be high.
I would love a neutral AUTOSNEAK race.
Goblins, orcs, what ever.
When FL came into being FG's got the fire bash damage, people bitched, it got removed.
FGs have a chance to do a fire bash and extra damage.
Ilendriel is briefly surrounded by a holy aura.
You slam into Ilendriel, knocking him senseless!
Your bodyslam maims Ilendriel!

In the first two, he had sanc. Thats an example of a regular followed by a fire bash.
The third he actually has no sanc. SO you can see that the fire bash is a big boost to damage, as this was vs a pally with all buffs and higher ac.
Actually, Ilendriel's ac was never that great... always in the -250/-300 range.
Myconid for neutral autosneak race.
Of course grim wants Mushrooms that talk back.
