I personally think this should be changed.
I am not sure how it could be made better, but I am tired of fighitng someone, or multiple someones just to have a ninja assasinate me while I am fighitng a cabal guard.
Maybe make it so you cant asssinate a person in combat, or perhaps make study not work so well on people who are fighting...since they are moving around.
Honestly we have one ninja now that all they do is stalk others cabal fights and randomly kill folks.

That's the whole idea behind assassinate. One of the purposes it serves is to keep "super decked" people on their toes and, as a result of successful assassination, keep the rares moving around.

the same ninja killed me on two seperate occasions. Both by camping cabal war fights then just killing me after I won, or when I retreated.
The second time I was killed while I was awake and in combat.
Ninja just took a blow to their assassinate and also had a few huge blows to their melee in the past....

Assassinating someone in melee already has a a big penalty...
To clarify, as I've heard this rumor a lot of times now, the only thing that was changed about assassinate is enlarge.
Also, ninjas have never been able to assassinate someone actually in combat IIRC.

No, I think assassinate should not exist. It is lame, and any of you who plays a falcon eye ninja is lame 
You know what a friend of mine recently told me? He told me, "I too want to have it easy from time to time". Then he rolled an assassinate ninja and started complaining when he couldn't assassinate Val (who had 5 levels on him at that time).
That ninja assassinated me as well

THen why you don't roll ninja to assassinate fully decked people?
Kudos to said Ninja. Well done. If you do not like it, start hunting ninjas. There are a LOT of classes that really make life hard for a ninja, considering the virtual plethera of ways to keep them from hiding and sneaking. If the ninja got you, as it has been written in the past, you messed up.

yeah so easy to avoid when you have cabal enemies all over you and your cabal.
I mean, people cant double team on you at once..but a ninja can study you then one shot you whenever they feel like almost

The same reason I don't roll a :Shaman, Reaver voker, Savant Destruction Psi, Mino watcher zerk.
I want to be challenged and have fun while playing. I find nothing fun about that style of play is all. I have played an assassinate ninja, pre changes, and I was able to very easily assassinate people if I did not do stupid crap.

You can't and could never be assassinated by a ninja while in combat with the ninja. They have always been able to assassinate you while fighting someone or something else.

Despiser got me once while in combat with me using the "your main target dies at the end of a round and you haven't officially reengaged your new opponent" gap. I was VERY upset.
I don't usually complain a lot, but when it comes to ninjas. Grrrrr. A tip for all of you btw, if you manage to kill a ninja, you better full loot them, because they will come back for you again and again until they succeed that assassinate :/
