After spending time in great, and horrible places. I can tell you right now that alot of people are products of their environment. Not saying that is an excuse, but it is truth. Being born and raised in a drug, and gang infested area, you are going to have ties with either, or elevate yourself, by choosing to curb your surroundings, and discipline yourself.
Same thing goes for upper class. Most upper class kids have never even seen crack, let alone seen someone wandering through the street begging for change to buy the junk. So those are the people who are far less likely to be associated with drugs, gangs, and blue collar crime.
I came from a very abusivie, alcohol tied family life. My stepfather was very abusive, until I was bigger than him, and it shows on me as I get very edgy, and ****ty around offensive drinkers. I also have a much higher understanding for people being addicted to substances because of where I am from. I have friends in Prison, and jail. A few of them dead, or n ot going to stop til one of the 3 happens to them. Basically I am saying we DO adapt to what surrounds us, but it is, 90% of the time, our choice to stay in those surroundings. It can be a reason you have done things, but never an excuse for them
