Neutral monks

I have never understood why monks could not be neutral. You can have avatar, and undead monks both of which are FAR more powerful than a neut monk could ever be. Any idea of actual reason?

I love Undead Monks. They just sort of Pop when you cast Wrath on them.

From what i have heard its about EQ balance. Neutrals get access to a lot of Uber EQ.

Also, why can monks be Chaotic ? They should be forced to be LAwfull/Neutral. A Chaotic monk would never endure their training.

I think this is just an outdated mechanic of an age long gone.

If BLMs can devote themselves enough to chaotics and neutrals, monks certainly can.

Monks can't be neutral because that is the way it is!

Neutrality is what monks are about in my opinion.

Exactly what I think. Servants of the balance never dedicating to one extreme or the other. Able to think clearly through any situation through the logically sound choice.

Exactly, they embrace the Ying and the Yang

Mindflayer is right, although I think all ethos' should be open to monks.

There can be dedicated evil/good monks.

There can be the monks of his example.

If we go by the 'ying/yang' scenario, monks could ONLY be neutral.

Really wanna give up avatar and undead now?

I think neutral monks are not OP, but when one decides to become a stalker...

Not only that, but they are also immune to protection from good/evil (while still able to access it themselves), which is a huge game-changer with the kind of individual hits they can do.

Eh? EHHHHH?

Well, hrmm. Neutral blademasters can get all that uber equipment, so that eliminates that scenario. Anyone can get protection spells, so that eliminates that problem. Only problem I guess I can see is the "cabal" opening, but if you just don't let monks be watchers. I see no problem. Then again, I see a lot of the classes as being kinda "wrong" by definition of the classes....Such as Shamans.

Monks =/= Blademasters.

Monks =/= Blademasters.

Neutral characters don't have access to the protection spell. IF that is what Pali was saying.

Blademasters are greater than monks. But... I feel blademasters are slightly overpowered as is..

Shrug, I probably know more about watcher then all of you, cant see monks getting that much of a power boost in the cabal.

I see them being on par with avatarv monks. I don't see how undead monks are that much more powerful. I'd usually would always prefer to fight the undead instead of its human counterpart unless its an avatar, lich, or vamp.

Undead monk is sick. Think undead ability + a monks lag potential.

You mean that one time I hit someone with it once and someone hiting it on me twice in my 7-8 years of play here? I didn't even know that skill existed. Even then you'd still have to overpower that person, that skill alone won't give you the victory. I'd much rather have more reliable skills that avatars and watchers can give.
