Warrior kick disarming.

So i was watching Xena, Princess Warrior, when i saw her disarming a guy with a kick.

So i thought, why not have kick prompt a disarm for warriors, and only warriors.

If kick mastered, of course.

That would bring life to a unused skill, kick.

Perhaps make it trigger a 4 sided dice thing.

1- Does nothing.

2- Disarm

3- Shield Disarm

4- Offhand Disarm

That way if your warrior is fighting a cleric and he is dirted, charged and about to die and you wish to input a command to finish him, you can use kick.

Hmm, that's pretty cool and interesting.

I don't play melees ... at all, so I dunno about balance issues. But the idea of it, I like.

At first I was going to say this would make kick way too powerful, but then I kinda thought...really I don't know. Honestly I would still never be using kick even with this, except for like you said if I were chasing a cleric or something.

But, with no emote with disarm, who is to say kicking a weapon out of someone's hand isn't already how a warrior - or anyone else for that matter - disarms? Maybe they DO kick. Maybe they lock weapons and after some swirling about they sling your weapon away. Maybe they just bat it out of your hand. It could be and probably is any and all of these.

When I envision a warrior disarming... I picture them running up to you, stopping right infront of the you. Then slap you in the face (Like a girl would if you called her fat). Taking your weapon and throwing it on the ground. Then stomp on it angrily.

Hahaha that's hilarious! I always just imagined a scene from a typical action movie, where they hit your arm or hand really hard, and you drop the weapon.

To me it was always some fancy move with weapons like you see in the Zorro type swordfighting movies.

I think this is an awesome idea.

I dunno. Kick... very few people use it right. I hear if you do it at your god's shrine at the hour of your character's creation during a lightning storm made by Aruncus' staves, and follow it up on the tick with the "detect evil" potion from Falan Dara, you'll get quite a surprise....

except vs. pinnacle opponents might not be useful at all. except vs. good/neutral shield holders for 1/4 chance. the very gamble of it all says to me "why the F@#$ not?"

How about just add a desc string to normal disarm? No need to add it to another skill. Duh.

I believe the point was that it would also do damage.

Any class that has kick, has another spell/skill that is worth doing instead. shrug
