I thought this might add a little more flavor possible to the note/scroll system. How about when you recieve a scroll, you actually recieve a scroll with whatever it said in your inventory as well? The scrolls could dissolve when dropped to prevent a mass amount of scrolls. And it could possibly add to rp by reading the "letter" said individual had on him when you kill him. If for instances, tribunal was doing some sort of political thing with knights, and a nexus intercepts, kills the knight and reads the message.
Notes/scrolls
I really like this idea.
"I third the motion."
Nice idea, Marty.
I like it too, though won't this make the poor heralds obsolete if anyone can make these notes? But to clarify my view, I LIKE THIS IDEA!
So, any chance on this idea becoming real? That would be so bad ***.
Well if you dropped the scroll how would you go back and read it again? Would this change still allow for commands like "note list", "note read 13", etc? It would add some nice RP flavor.
I agree with mindflayer. Add the scrolls without removing the old notes.
I rather like the idea myself, truth be told.
Sweet! ![]()
Bah!!! I thought this was about reciting scrolls.
Do you people read those boring notes ?
I just spam Note, as i find it always the same old:
-
"Character i never heard writes, that he is the most powerfull king of the worlds..."
-
"XX has taken a pill and is now known as XY"
-
"I am the Qrace/classWannabe and my goal is to make long boring 3 pages notes"
-
"Knights in is infinite wisdom decide to make a pact."
-
"Knights in is infinite wisdom decide to break a pact."
-
" A mole is a coward because he killed me and i am a cry baby."
-
"I am a healer hellbent on PKing the living."
-
"I am a herald and i like to write foder"
-
"My parents where murderd and i become a faerie DK."
-
"IRS is a thieve and wont give me my shinies."
-
"This message says something but is to long and boring to even start reading."
when i had a justice char i loved reading all the notes bitching about being unfailry arrested and flagged.
Re: Mya
Yeah.. must be boring.. having to read and stuff.. getting to know characters and their roleplay and their dreams and goals.. must give a headache.. that people have the nerve to impose their beliefs and opinions upon you, you unwilling victim of trauma-inducing letters!
Let's all just live in ignorance.
Re: Melinda
Yeah... must be hard... being so insecure about your own opinion... that you have to attack someone else's opinions if they conflict with yours... must give a headache... that people have the nerve to impose their beliefs and opinions upon you, you the unwilling victim of trauma-inducing tenets.
Let's all just get really defensive when someone else speaks their mind.

My, my, are you not the one now being insecure about your own opinion that you have to attack someone else's because it is conflicting with yours?
Besides, it's not so much attacking an opinion as disagreeing with it on a fundamental level in a very sarcastic manner. I had no idea you would find it so offensive.
I usually do, when someone goes out of their way to be sarcastic and rude toward someone trying to express an opinion.
I usually become very sarcastic when people go out of their way to diminish other peoples' efforts and treat them in a patronizing way. I don't really feel there's anything contributing in posting about 'those boring notes' or how people write the 'same old' as if that was something bad.
I hate to burst your bubble, but most of the notes people send these days are exactly what Mya stated.
A. Name Changes (which are fine, and usually amusing if they're from Raargant)
B. OOC IMM notes
C. Cabal Recruitment
D. "The World is Going to End" (PS - The opinions shared in this note do not reflect the opinion of HERALD)
Meaningful notes are a rare commodity, these days. What most people don't realize is, that's a good thing.
Then we do not agree on what 'meaningful notes' are.
OK, boys and girls... back on topic now.
I really like this idea, and here is how I see it working out.

There is really no major change with note boards. Yes, you have notes in a physical form that dissolve when dropped, but you can also access notes you have already had access to the same way you do now.
-
Notes written to specific entities, since they have a physical form they are connected to, can now be intercepted and read by people who were not intended to recieve them in the first place. This can be really neat when intercepting cabal/clan transcriptions, allowing for the possibility of leaks and such. With this in mind, it might be nice to have the short description simply be the intended recipients (ie. 'A note to the members of Knight' or 'A note to all magic users') so you know if it is something you would already have had access to reading.
