as a major hater of blanket-statements, i will forever disagree with "class x will pound class y". there are just too many factors to figure in. knowledge, skill, tactics, gear, luck, etc. would it be a challenge? yes? impossible? no.

calling out one particular character (who was quite strong, no question about it) does not make it true. all props to despiser's ninja, but that was an atypical example of ninja's today. there were quite a few tone-downs to ninjas (remember stackable affects?) since that time.

i don't deny a thief/ninja battle would not be uphill for the thief. BUT, given time, creativity and a little finesse a thief can and will win. same goes for the ninja. it may even fall to whoever strikes first, but more-so it will go to whomever is more prepared for the other.

my post was only one of my experiences vs. ninjas as a thief. i'm a firm believer of skill/preparedness trumping so-called "class banes

I'm a firm believer shamans can not kill undeads. But that is probably just me.
