So I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if the "Cabal Numbers" command was expanded on? I think its a great feature.
Examples
Class Numbers
Race Numbers
qstuff Numbers
This would keep people from asking on the forums for a dump of whats being played. It would also help people know if there are already xx number of active qthings.
The command "cabal numbers" is already in. It just tells you how many are in each cabal, not who they are. That's still reserved for the E/L of said cabal.
IMO, it doesn't really affect anything that the pbase knows these or not. Not in any meaningful ways, anyway. Does it matter how many gnomes are rolled? Then you see there's two or three warriors active. Nobody's going to roll a gnome warrior because their numbers are low.
The qthing is slightly better in terms of player info, more of a chance to get that demon DK if there's not already one running around. But that doesn't mean that the staff might not make an exception.
Or, novel idea, post on prayer asking if there's a slot open for what you'd like to go for. This would serve two functions as it would let you know if the slot you're hoping for is open (or anything else that might help/hinder you), and inform the staff that you're interested so they can start watching you for said slot.
Oh there are 6 clerics in Knight, let me roll a nexus invoker.
While that's one possibility, I'm sure the suggestion keeps cabal numbers, race numbers, class numbers and qstuff numbers all separate. Like the Imm commands do.
That's how it would be taken advantage of. And it surely will be somehow. People already roll banes to deal with one character if they could see the entire fold of the cabal's classes and races it would be highly annoying. What happened to the sense of wonder and mystery?

-1 to this idea for me.
That's how it would be taken advantage of, if it gave you that information.
But the suggestion as is doesn't. Not that we need or will get this information anyway outside the Imms being nice and posting it.
If you were given a list of every character's race in one command, every character's class in another and the numbers in a cabal in a third, do you really think you could extrapolate what race/class combo is in each cabal? Impressive. Teach me.
