Locked Clerics Sermon vs High Intelligence

Does this work similar to hypnotize? Not so affective versus someone with High intelligence? I just logged on with a very old toon, who was naked and decided to piss off a cleric and I noticed this..

The sermon didn't even affect me and I was kinda suprised, but then I realised I was a drow.. so maybe the high intellegence had something to do with it?

I think it is now checked for a save when it fires each tick. I have saved it with low int/wis races and high int/wis races. But I don't know the exact answer, I believe it is just a saves check.

Interesting that the character is agnostic.

... That's +6 svs, not -6.  Add another "very" to that.

He isn't the cleric...He was fighting one. Agnostic Clerics cannot commune any spells at all and are totally gimped as such.

Umm hello.. I was about to get dressed by taking half the clerics stuff, how else would a thief get dressed! But like waaa? Naked and I beat out his sermon. Weak sauce R US.

It is really intended that a naked thief can resist a mental skill like minister? 

How is that balanced?  The guy had +6 spell saves.  He shouldn't resist anything.

Just because you don't see saves listed, doesn't mean that your race doesn't have the saves. 

I already took a look, but it doesn't warrant a change or a fix.

It is working as intended.

Different races have different innate saves?  Outside of things like stat effects and stated resists/vulns?  This is news to me.

I wonder if that cleric had been naked how much "saves" he would of had against the melee from the thief.

You're also looking at one instance.  A single save against minister completely out of context.  How many times was it saved across the duration?  Just the once?  Every time?  Low chance doesn't mean no chance and low chance doesn't mean every time.

I am just so disenchanted by the balance of caster output vs melee output in this game atm.

It seems there is a myriad array of ways to screw up, lock down, stop cast, resist, save, and otherwise just laugh at a caster while they try over and over again to just get their abilities to work.  To the point that ignoring everything but dps is the only way to really be effective. 

While against melee we have...shield block...parry...neither of which can be improved upon or scaled to any effective degree. 

And here we have an example of "working as intended" built in mechanics that make it so a naked thief can resist an evil clerics signature ability.  Like wtf...
