Religious shrines

Using bless, war cry, or any other religion based skills should get a bonus for being done at the shrine.

Those that aren't bound by a faith or religion, atheist/agnostic religions, get this buff without needing to go to a special place since they can't get tattoos or anything fancy.

And Lloth has a shrine. Its not part of the quest though. Its in the Underdark.

Not part of any quest, no.  Setting up a quest for it like Faith isn't difficult.  Or group it in with.

As Lloth doesn't have a proper shrine, a certain skill has no effect.  I've only got a partial log from that HM, but I'm fairly sure I tested that one out in several ways with no success.  @Lloth might want to look into that, too.  Beg, if you must.  :cheese:

The bonus to religion based skills inside a shrine ... I like the idea.  Ideas/suggestions forum?

You can do a number of things with that from 150% warcry/bless gains to +hit/mana gain for level/8 hours.  It would add incentive to visit these holy places more often than just once to gather quests.

I'm not sure that athiest/agnostics get any benefit from warcry/bless.  So we'd give them a bonus to a skill that does effectively nothing to them?  Or do you mean just give them the bonus as the actual warcry skill is moot?

I should fix that.

Yes.

Beg? You surely don't know me...

That's a paddlin'. Or a smitin'.

Bring it, pretty princess.

Well, Lloth religion is technically Faith religion, so any skills that are dependent on being in that shrine(a certain DK spell) would be done in the faith shrine, not the Lloth shrine.

Well, for war cry I believe you cry out to the Creator and still get the benefits, couldn't tell you about bless. Maybe no buff, maybe just increased timer. I dunno. I was just brainstorming.

I miss you ho...bit.

Not convinced about Faith subbing for Lloth.  Wish I had more of that log, but I'm fairly certain I did try that.  Along with atheist/agnostic DKs to test out.

All classes with bless as a class skill are hosed hard if they take atheist/agnostic.  Permanent blasphemy, as it were.  I'm extremely curious about warcry/bless on non-communing atheist/agnostics now though.  Might roll a warrior and eat a red pill to test it out to see for sure.

Still, right or wrong, increased duration is cool, too.

Derailed this enough, IMO, so I'm done.  I like the idea either way.

You feel righteous as you yell out your warcry.

You yell 'Creator, bless me with your power!'**

There's that...

And I'm 99.99% sure on the Lloth/Faith thing.

I did find Compassion and Neutrality(pretty obvious) since I opened this thread, so I'm down to 3. Greed, Guile, Combat. The quest continues!!!!!! I'm on a mission from god/gods, literally.

I can tell you that two of them are within three areas of Maelbrim. All of the shrines can be reached while you are level 30, one of them is risky to do at that rank, but if you have means of a recall, it is very doable.

There was a Lloth shrine, at least a room for it. I'm not sure if it was hooked up for the quests, but I assume it was.

Ask people in game and they'll tell you shrine locations. Keep it in a document along with the rest of your quest information that you accumulate. Even if it seems obvious, there will be a time, maybe years down the road, that you will want to reference it.

@Trick send it to the Ideas thread, so we do not derail this.

On topic, to narrow your searches, think who when your thinking where. Good luck, you will find them. My money says Combat frustrates.

@Lloth If I remember, there was an abandoned shrine somewhere in the underdark, maybe I am wrong. Its been a  while.

You are indeed correct and I was not.

The Shrine of Lloth

[Exits: Direction]
Some spidery inscriptions have been delicately carved into the walls here.
(Red Aura) A handmaiden of Lloth waits here, obscured in shadow.

And now I'm curious if Trick has the right of it, or if this is set up for the skill, too.  I'm thinking currently this shrine is a blank slate.

Combat I think is the easier of the three.  Guile on the other hand is a pain trying to find.  Was for me, anyway.  That and Purity were my last two finds.

Yes there is a shrine. No there is no shrine quest for it. Yes, Lloth religion us a subsect of faith.
