That would actually be slower than the normal way.
typing "nnnn + enter" would take much more time than "n + enter + enter + enter + enter", not to mention that it's five presses anyway.
Dunno what client you use, but it's not a very good one.
like I said I use the key pad when possible, my laptop has no key pad. so I use binary, which allows me to break the travel with a look, where, or who command so I do not get the spam punishment lag.

As it was said earlier, I can tell you that it's 15 east, s, e, e, e, e, n, e, e, u, e, u, u, and 13 east from the CC of Val Miran to the CC of Malebrim. I can do that for a LOT of places, and it's the KEY to fast running.
I however use a slightly different setup for my keypad than anyone else has mentioned so far...
KP 7 = west
KP 8 = north
KP 9 = east
KP 4 = where
KP 5 = south
KP 6 = where PK
KP 1 = up
KP 2 = stand
KP 3 = down
It's basically preference, but that's what I like to use. I also from time to time will run by entering the first letter of the direction and pressing enter, but in a PK running situation, i'm on my KP for directions.

I've talked to Hit and run a lot about his preference way of chasing, simply because he is the fastest chaser I know. Him and MF probably.
H&R is a very cool guy and that has allowed me to do A LOT of investigation on how he chases, and I will share some of my insight with you. You will be surprised...
btw, you really need to teach me to chase...

I press enter too every time, but I don't have to type in the direction.
the client remembers my last command.
so if I want to repeat it, i just type enter again, since it is already in the text field.

I have learnt to keep my fingers in a row on the keyboard, so I can reach any letter fast
but yeah, also reaching enter with my little finger is an advantage
I'm also using a laptop, with a slightly smaller keyboard
